NCAA stats & Big East

I was perusing the NCAA stats for some Big East teams and noticed something impressive. Big East teams are #1 in the country in 8 of 18 major categories. They are:

Scoring offense: ND, 83.6 ppg (UConn 4th, 79.8)
Field goal percentage (offense): ND, 49.0% (UConn tied with Baylor for 2nd, 48.9%)
Scoring margin: UConn, 35.2 points (ND 2nd, 33.2)
Scoring defense: UConn, 44.6 ppg (WVU 4th, 49.2; ND 6th 50.4; Georgetown 8th, 51.3)
Field goal percentage defense: UConn, 30.0% (WVU 3rd, 31.0; Georgetown 6th, 33.4)
Assists per game: UConn, 20.4 (ND 2nd, 19.9)
Assist to turnover ratio: UConn: 1.39 (Villanova 7th, 1.23; ND 8th, 1.22)
Turnovers per game: Villanova, 11.8

good stuff on the BE. one sort of interesting tidbit - 'nova had something like 25 or so turnovers vs. UCONN. shows how good our defense is considering everyone else 'nova has played...
