Correct me if I am oversimplifying this, but why doesn't this policy go into effect TODAY but the lower APR score penalties not be enforced until the 4th year thus providing ALL teams with the same knowledge and ability to comply with the score and its scoring standards.

There's also a reverse question though. Why not begin the bans with this year's tournament?

This is yet another reason why I do not like the NCAA. Like others have stated, does it really take this long to decide a case? I mean they have all of the reports, maybe. Go with that and make up your dang mind. It is not that complicated. Oh we make it complicated. But it really isn't that complicated.

Sad thing here is that it's such an easy decision to make, if you take bias out of the equation.

1) The NCAA standard in question was applied after the fact
2) We have already been punished for the student-athletes who gave us the poor APR
3) The current APR is through the roof

If any of those things were not true, we would have less of a case. But our current APR shows that the issues we had a few years ago have been resolved and are not a case of a systemic problem with the program, and the loss of two scholarships has clearly been an impetus for getting our house back in order.

Just as another example, you are considered to be in Title IX compliance if you can show that you are making adequate progress towards compliance (i.e. adding a women's sport or increasing scholarships recently) even if your current numbers aren't there yet.

And, yes I am biased, but if this same thing was happening to Kentucky and Calipari, I'd feel the same way. I might just not post my feelings here.

I say it's time for UCONN to either start or threaten to start the litigation against the NCAA. First February, then April, now July? They are killing our recruiting and messing with kids' futures. If this doesn't get resolved soon, we won't be able to field a team next year or we'll be like St. John's this past season.
