Has anyone noticed the completely different reactions of supporters of schools and fans when the European Super League was proposed vs the creation of a collegiate super league?

In Europe, mass protests because they understood what it would it mean to the smaller clubs, their finances, rivalries, and the history behind it all. Even the fans of the big boys stood up to say no.

In the US, the complete capitulation by the hundreds of schools, millions of alumni and fans of schools throughout the entire NCAA, including D2 and D3 to a select small group of schools.

Europe - small farmers protected by the EU; U.S. laws favor large agro-business
Europe - still small markets and cheap open-air markets everywhere; U.S. chain groceries and overpriced farmers markets for the wealthy
Europe - stuff costs more; U.S. cost of living generally less.

It's a different way of thinking over there.

Holy cow there is a huge difference between European Pro Soccer which is the pinnacle and US College Soccer.

Nobody cares about college soccer. Nobody.

It doesn’t make money and they don’t even play the same rules.

Nobody cares what they do. Not even the people in college soccer.

It’s that irrelevant.

I think he's comparing the European Super League they tried a few years ago and general NCAA realignment. Not specifically college soccer.

But in either case, one can't really compare the sports business model between Europe and the US. Here it is about sport and fair play first and money making a distant second. In the US it is about money first and sport and fair play a DISTANT tenth.

That was my take as well. This was not about college soccer.

Yeah I was being too literal.

I think with the Euro leagues, fans care more about the domestic league more than anything else. Plus more clubs would get left behind.
