LeBron unfortunately is a 3rd or 4th or 5th player on a championship team at this point in his career- which is still pretty incredible- go look at Jordan stats & years when he was 39 & 40. This isn’t earth shattering news- think it’s pretty obvious if James is your second best player you ain’t winning anything important.
Again, that’s just incorrect. He COULD be the 3rd best player on a team, but he is still so good that he is 1st or 2nd. He was better overall than Luka this series, if you take all-around game into account.

You put LeBron on the Cavs instead of Garland he is the second best player (Maybe first) and they demolish everyone to a Championship.

Trade him for Jaylen Brown. Is he good enough now?

You acknowledge there are 15 players on each team without acknowledging that how good or bad they substantially impacts the team's performance.
Celtics obviously wouldn't do that and in that hypothetical the Lakers still wouldn't win it all. We would get the same excuses, too many players who do the same things, no big guy, not deep enough. The guy is great but everything surrounding him gets tiring. His fans are always making excuses for what he doesn't have when he's always got Hall of Famers on his teams.

This is hilarious!

Jaxon Hayes IS good enough.

The Lakers bench WAS good.

If only Pitino coached the Lakers…

He’s not at that same level anymore- especially in a 7 Game Series- he’s 40 years old & doesn’t have the stamina or energy to play both sides & have a such positive impact on each game any longer- maybe a 3rd or 4th best on a championship team- no longer the 1st or 2nd best- pretty obvious- you can give me all the stats- if you watch each game you quickly realize.

This is hilarious! You're doing exactly what I just described.

He played alongside the guy who was #3 in MVP voting last season, who led the league in scoring last season, who took his team to the finals last season. He played alongside the guy many who cover the league were saying was the best third option in the league this season.

Give Lebron another Hall of famer next season and you'll still be whining about him not having enough help when he comes up short again.

No, see I can be realistic. I think LeBron played relatively poorly games 1+2, was tremendous is game 3, and was very good in 4+5 other than the 4th Quarters where he deferred and was evidently tired/somewhat injured.

You cannot admit that Luka was a cone, Reaves played quite poorly, and they had no competent big men, which was absolutely the X factor to the series.

Tell me if I said something incorrect there. No one is making an excuse, you just think anyone that doesn’t crap on LeBron is an absolute homer.

Why is Bridges not that guy? Honest question, I don't understand why it has been so underwhelming
The main issue is he likes to operate in the same areas that Brunson does in the mid range. So when Brunson is playing well which is almost always, Bridges' impact is limited. And with Thibs small rotations there's limited opportunities to stagger their minutes

On this team-Yes. The team wasn’t set up well enough to win a championship, which I think everyone knew.

The argument was put him on a team in replacement of another player who is second best, and I fully believe they would have championship potential. But we can agree to disagree on that.

Impressive stuff from the Warriors in game 7 after they looked beat down and exhausted in game 6
The way this one played out was very reminiscent of the Kings series two years ago where they got blown out in game six at home and then stormed back with a resounding road win in game seven. Slightly different circumstances, but these game 7s that feature a vet-laden team against an up-and-comer all seem to play out the same way regardless of who's at home. Everyone's so spent physically that nothing will go down from deep and since the refs swallow their whistles it's hard to score at the rim. I think knowing how those games are called and what your body's capable of and what its not puts the more experienced team at a huge advantage.

Alas, as was the case two years ago, I expect this to be the last series they win. They're counting on their trio of vets to shoulder a workload right now that would be a big ask for three guys in their mid-20s. The next series is every other day through game five (at which point, for some reason, they will be given three full days off before game six). If they can make it to game six I give them a shot, but it'll be a tall task.

Well that changed quickly. As a Celtics fan they simply aren’t working to get good shots. Ugly.

Celtics got this a game of runs. Knicks winning their 2nd half participation trophy.

That was FUN. OG took over in the third, Brunson took over in the fourth, Bridges (51 minutes) took over in OT

Knicks steal one on the road. Down 20 in the second half but came back

Celtics got soft throwing up too many 3s, Knicks wanted it more.
