Scoe try to add anything of relevance to the discussion. Difficulty level: Impossible. There's more defense for Lebron on this board more than Hurley.

They couldn't sign Hartenstein, that was part of the problem. Their offer couldn't exceed ~$12mm for year one with limited escalations. This is among the senseless things about the current CBA.I would have thought the Knicks with OG and Bridges would at least be competitive against Boston. They were pretty much hand picked by Rose to combat Tatum and Brown. The mistake was the KAT trade. They could have signed Hartenstein and used Randle to get some depth.
I believe the idea was to have KAT play the four (as Randall's replacement). Robinson missing most of the season injured screwed this up.KAT is just so bad defensively he can only play drop coverage and Boston just shoots too good so you have to switch everything on the perimeter.
I really hate the plus/minus metric for last night it shows KAT +8 as the most effective Knicks player other than Hart at +13. Then he fouls out with a minute and a half left and we win. Go figure.
This is why it's time to move on from Thibs.Even with KAT’s deficiencies this team still under performed against the best teams. That has to be on someone. Thibs has taken this group as far as he can and maybe this team as constructed is just average as the pieces don’t fit together.
They are going to have to figure something out as far as roster construction because after the Boston series it will be three straight years of losing in the second round. They are not getting better.
A prime example: in 2007 and again in 2018 he took the Cavs to the NBA finals.
Take a look at that '07 Cavs roster. Yeesh. And he was a couple years younger than Cam Spencer was when he was at UConn.
Nope, NBA basketball is played with 5 guys on the court for each team, there's two teams on the court. There's 15 roster spots, 5 starters and 10 bench guys. One team wins the NBA championship, at this point in his career Lebron needs to be the third best player on his team to win a championship. He's currently the second best player on his team and they just got smoked in the first round.
I'd rather package Bridges and Robinson for a legitimate SG, though I don't know who's out there. Brunson, XXX, Hart, OG, KAT would be a perfect starting lineup. Then fill out the bench in FAThey couldn't sign Hartenstein, that was part of the problem. Their offer couldn't exceed ~$12mm for year one with limited escalations. With a starting lineup of Robinson, KAT, Anunoby, Bridges & Brunson; with Hart as sixth man, the Knicks cam matchup well defensively at most spots. No other team has two wing defenders the quality OA & MB. With OG playing the four he was giving up too much height too often.
The Bridges trade didn't work out close to what was expected (the prior Nova additions all moved in seamlessly) and yes, KAT will always be deficient on defense. A trade for a competent starting center (presumably for Bridges & Robinson) would help quite a bit. A couple depth pieces will also be needed.
It's ok I understand you're a little sad about Lebron going fishing.Scoe try to add anything of relevance to the discussion. Difficulty level: Impossible.
Sure, I’m bummed. That’s how people get when their teams/players lose. It's ok I understand you're a little sad about Lebron going fishing.
TBH I think Davis is a better fit than Luka for 41 yr old LeBron. Davis and 3 and D wings, which is what they had in 2020. I was always dumbfounded how they didn't get more shooters to pair with LeBron and Davis--you have the hard part figured out! I think if not for running into an all-time great in his prime, that's a roster that could be in the conference finals any year. What's the right fit for Lebron at this point? He played with a dominant big who is a beast defensively and they lost 4-1 in the first round last year. He played with who some say is the most talented player in the league and they lost 4-1 in the first round this year. It will be 6 seasons removed from his last championship when he takes a crack at it again next season.
Outside of Jokic, Giannis, or another possible star coming to the Lakers or forming another super team somewhere else I don't see how he wins another championship.
People were saying Austin Reaves was the best third option in the league and now people are trashing him. Dude averaged 20/6/5 this season.
Lebron never played for UConn, I don't have to be sad for him. I don't even care that much, just glad to see the Lakers lose especially the ones that were doing victory laps after we got eliminated against Florida.Sure, I’m bummed. That’s how people get when their teams/players lose.
It’s a lot weirder to be over the moon about them/him losing. Too much hate in your heart my man.
Do you think people here only root for UConn? You don't get sad when the Knicks or the Yankees lose?Lebron never played for UConn, I don't have to be sad for him. I don’t just go dormant from April-November. Other sports are ongoingLebron never played for UConn, I don't have to be sad for him. I don't even care that much, just glad to see the Lakers lose especially the ones that were doing victory laps after we got eliminated against Florida.
I honestly don't get as sad when the Knicks and Yankees lose, as opposed to UConn . I also know there are Yankee boards and Knicks boards. Also am not gonna try to force others to be sad for me if the Yankees or Knicks lose.Do you think people here only root for UConn? You don't get sad when the Knicks or the Yankees lose?
No one is trying to force you to be sad, now you’re just hyperbolizing everything.I honestly don't get as sad when the Knicks and Yankees lose, as opposed to UConn . Agree with you about the UConn stuff...I'd rather all my other favorite teams go 0 and whatever or fold entirely if it meant UConn athletics continues to thrive.I honestly don't get as sad when the Knicks and Yankees lose, as opposed to UConn . I also know there are Yankee boards and Knicks boards. Also am not gonna try to force others to be sad for me if the Yankees or Knicks lose.
UConn is definitely my favorite, so I get that, though the Mets are close. But nobody is trying to force you to be sad. He's just explaining why he cares that LeBron lost.I honestly don't get as sad when the Knicks and Yankees lose, as opposed to UConn . I also know there are Yankee boards and Knicks boards. Any sane baseball fan is very happy when the Yankees lose.Do you think people here only root for UConn? You don't get sad when the Knicks or the Yankees lose?
The irony here is that they may be able sign him after this season, as his OKC contract has a team option and the Thunder may decline and go for a big in the draft. They couldn't sign Hartenstein, that was part of the problem. Their offer couldn't exceed ~$12mm for year one with limited escalations. This is among the senseless things about the current CBA.

Depends how you're framing it. Swap out Tatum, Mitchell, or SGA for LeBron and he could win the title as the best player on any of those rosters. Forget second best.Despite his numbers he can't be the second best player on a championship team at this point.
Thanks yes I forgot that they could not compete with the other offers he was going to get because of the CBA.They couldn't sign Hartenstein, that was part of the problem. Their offer couldn't exceed ~$12mm for year one with limited escalations. This is among the senseless things about the current CBA.

Why is Bridges not that guy? Honest question, I don't understand why it has been so underwhelmingI'd rather package Bridges and Robinson for a legitimate SG, though I don't know who's out there. Brunson, XXX, Hart, OG, KAT would be a perfect starting lineup. Then fill out the bench in FA
LeBron unfortunately is a 3rd or 4th or 5th player on a championship team at this point in his career- which is still pretty incredible- go look at Jordan stats & years when he was 39 & 40. This isn’t earth shattering news- think it’s pretty obvious if James is your second best player you ain’t winning anything important.Reaves played pretty poorly. Bringing up his regular season stats doesn’t change that fact.
