I’m happy for whatever result happens to give best chances of keeping Hurley. The other possible consideration is that Hurley would not take right now, but if Thibs punted in 3 years, Hurley might. Hmmmmm. It's interesting because Thibs just got a 3 year deal last summer and most people thought he totally deserved it. NYK haven't really underperformed this year (assuming they finish off Detroit). They're just not the same level as Boston and Cleveland. For the record I am a Celtics fan but I am UConn first and foremost. I would be happy with NYK beating Boston if it meant job security for Thibs.
I think the Knicks are likely behind Indy too. Their record against good competition this year was really bad.
