Sept. 25 is National One-Hit Wonder Day! A day where we can celebrate those songs that topped the charts but then their performers faded away from the music scene. What are some of your favorite one-hit wonders?

I'm going with an oldie:

Jackie Blue - Ozark Mountain DareDevils Moonlight Feels Right - Starbuck
Afternoon Delight - Starland Vocal Band Magic - Pilot
Don't Give Up on Us - David Soul Video Killed the Radio Star - Buggles
Hot Child in the City - Nick Gilder Torn Between Two Lovers - Mary MacGregor

.-.
Dexys Midnighth Runners - Come on Eileen. A GREAT song - loved it when i was in college. I never could understand half of what they were saying until websites like Lyrics.com were created.

One of my favorite songs of the 80s, which is a one hit wonder, though, according to Billboard, it wasn’t officially a “hit.”

Mascagni Cavalleria Rusticana. Composed it in 18 days to make an entry deadline for a one-act opera contest, but never wrote anything of any significance afterwards. It remains one of every opera buff’s favorites, with the orchestral interlude regularly winning favorite melody contests.
