Not that it will have any effect on outcome of the Temple game, but I'm getting vibes that Lou will soon be in the starting lineup in place of Napheesa.

Starter or starter's minutes ? Or both ?

What say you ?

Coaches will decide starting lineups and substitutions, depending on many factors, including performance in practice, opponent match-ups, injuries, progress of the game [how many fouls there are on starters], and others. Geno is brilliant at [paraphrasing him here] "putting the right players in the right situations to succeed and to help the team." He's said he's not overly concerned about winning or losing until March. He wants players and coaches ready for March. Plenty of time to watch and adjust. It's an exciting time of the season

Starting a game is merely getting your name announced during the opening introductions, what matters is how effectively you play the minutes you're given. Kiah Stokes wasn't a starter last season, but she altered games when she came in, particularly against ND and South Carolina. Lou has had some moments and is starting to show flashes of brilliance, but Napheesa has been the more consistent of the two and is much better defensively which is probably why she starts.

Ill go out on a limb and predict Lou will start the rest of the year - could be wrong but that's my guess !

Napheesa is better defensively; however, if Katie Lou's defense didn't improve, she would not being playing as much as she has been. There was a reason she started the second half against Memphis. As for who starts tonight, Napheesa probably will. In the long run Lou has the higher ceiling because while she will keep improving defensively, Napheesa will never be the offensive player that Lou is. Lou has much better range, makes better moves and has a better handle.

Between the two for this game and who starts it may come down to yesterday's practice. Geno may not want to mess with napheeza'a head by starting Lou, but I doubt that is the primary consideration among freshman. It's just not that big a decision right now.

I don't really care about which one starts, but I noticed last game how well the offense runs with Lou around the top of the key. Good passer and frees the other 4 up because they can not leave her.

I don't care who starts either - that's Geno's decision. Just speculating because Lou seems to be getting the message of how to play the game the UCONN way

I like Lou off the bench for now. She can inject offense into the team. She can watch the beginning of the game and see where the openings will be and she can work against the other teams subs.

It is awesome, that we can give opinions on who will start, when we are blessed with two very talented young ladies.Whether one starts or the other does, the future is very bright with three more years of these two girls playing for the team.

As the late coach Rick Majerus said, " starting is for high school". Who plays the most when the game is in it's critical time is what matters.

Katie Lou is looking like an AA. She has moves can drive, use either hand, block shots, dribble and hit the outside shot on the run. Not much more to say except get her minutes and more minutes and she will produce. I really liked what Ive seen the past couple of games. What time is it?...Katie Lou Time.

It must be a relief for KLS to see her shots finally going down. Seems like the last couple of weeks she is just going out there and playing and not overly thinking. She is taking what her coaches are telling her to heart and it is paying dividends. Imagine how good she will be next year when she makes that sophomore leap?

Just one thing Tony ... she does not like being called Katie Lou. She's Lou at home and on the team.

"Lou more than Katie, but just—never Katie, it's always Katie Lou or just Lou."
