Three titles in a row in that building, good timing for a renewal.
Wait, they held the final four in Hartford? How did I miss that?

I will look back fondly at the XL era. 5 Final Fours. 4 National Championships. It even hosted a conference championship tournament.
Turns out there's 5. How could I forget the AAC tournament? Quite easily, actually. And 3 America East championships.

I agree. Somewhere between the DCU Center and the TD Garden but much closer to the DCU Center. I'll be interested to see what they can get.
I always thought it was strange that a bank with Toronto in its name own the naming rights to a Boston arena. ( TD- Toronto Dominion)

Stanley Black & Decker is one of largest employers in the state. Let’s hit them up. Call it The Stanley.

They bought Fleet (if you go far enough back w the mergers)
Mergers indeed, but it was Bank of America which acquired/took over FleetBoston around 2004. Separately, Toronto Dominion bought Banknorth about the same time.

During the new Garden’s construction, Shawmut National Bank bought the Shawmut Center’s naming rights. Before it actually opened as the Fleet Center, FleetBoston acquired Shawmut.

Subsequently after BofA bought FleetBoston, the former paid the building owner to end the naming rights period early (circa mid-2000s). That’s when TD Banknorth acquired the naming rights of TD Banknorth Garden, before shortening a few years later to just TD Garden to appease Boston fans and customers.

The Pez Dispenser
