Tyler practically had his hands in his pockets (if he had pockets). Still gotta learn to play the first half on the road.

it sort of looked like he brought his arms down onto him rather than keeping them straight up... still should have not been called given where the player was on the floor. bail out call.

He reached into the cookie jar a little. I don't think he even came close to touching him, but he gave the ref the opportunity to imagine it. With a guy in the process of taking a garbage shot, there's no need.

Calls should not have been a factor - the refs were usual-lousy and full of make-up calls. TO did swing his arm but if it was on the other end Thomas would have been given the benefit. The out of bounds was huge - you know it was the wrong call when ESPN doesn't show a replay in order to not show-up the refs,
Again, coming to play 1/2 game and play miserable interior D 75% of the game and you lose.

Just a general comment and not specific to that call, but I think we all better get used to bad officiating. The AAC is not going to get top college officials. We're used to the Big East, who believe it or not had some of the best officials in college basketball because it was a top conference. The AAC doesn't have that clout.

That may be true in the future - but two of the guys tonight are veteran ACC officials (Duke Edsall and Bryan Kersey). Edsall has officiated in the Final Four and Kersey did a regional final last year.

Never heard of the third guy - Hal Lusk. I think it was Kersey who made the final call, but I'm not sure.

UCONN has to play an entire 40 minutes and that has yet to happen this year.

Very disappointed and hope they learn from this sooner than later

He essentially started his dribble by grabbing the ball with both hands and throwing it forward. When he got to the ball at the other end, he grabbed it with both hands again. Had he dribbled it when he got to it instead of putting both hands on it, he would have been fine. Since he grabbed it first, he discontinued his dribble HD then continued it again, which is illegal.

Awful officiating - Olander didnt touch thomas on that final play. I know we sucked in 1st half - but still Hate to lose like that

Bad call for sure, but did it really have to come down to a call like that to determine the outcome of the game. they played awful uninspired bball in the first half.

Tyler's foul was bad, but the out of bounds call on Neils was just off the wall ridiculous

sad to think these guys get paid big bucks to screw things up

at the end of the day, we shouldn't give them the opportunity to make a difference, yet we did

Yep, the refs are to blame for us losing to an absolutely terrible team missing 3 starters.
No, but they surely helped in the last couple of minutes with their inexcusable errors

Definitely. Also, having a coach who's incapable of drawing up late-game plays doesn't help.

(Are we allowed to criticize Ollie yet, or is he still untouchable around these parts?)

If you don't want it to come down to poor calls in a close game late, don't let it be a close game late. All 40 minutes count and that is what UConn needs to learn. Early in the season, UConn was running out to leads and not closing the game out. The last two road games, UConn has started slowly and had to battle back. They need to play tough for 40 minutes.

I agree to a point and the only other option is Giffey, they need to get him open no doubt. But again they have no one down low who you can draw a play for….DD has game but played awful and couldn't throw it in the ocean last night…….

I told my brother when Bazz was hot and they took the 3 point lead that "he's either going to have to make another big one or we lose…..and they have someone to throw it inside to so he can create or get fouled"…..we have ZERO for that….plus Thomas made his foul shots……..

By the way this guy was a 55% Ft shooter (thomas) coming in and drilled them all down the stretch finishing at 7-8 for the game………happens!

That's just not true. Ollie has drawn up plenty of successful plays out of timeouts the last season +, including a great one last night at the 2:45 mark with UConn up one.

Ollie has a ways to go as a coach, but to say he's incapable of drawing up plays out of timeouts is just not accurate.

It wasn't a foul but Uconn got what it deserved, if you keep playing with fire and lighter fluid guess whats gonna end up happening? You try to come back from 18 down and you put the game in the AAC refs hands, no one to blame but ourselves.
