Ah, how about the voice of Led Zeppelin re-inventing himself multiple times.

Mark Knopfler has crossed many genres over the years. Here's one he wrote and sung that's pure country. Right after he wrote it,m Randy Travis picked it up. That's about as country as you could want.

Emmylou pretty much did straight country with a little rock mixed in, but then turned to bluegrass for Roses in the Snow. Here’s the title song.

Just heard this one on the radio while out doing errands. Mahler is known for his big pieces; this is a piano quartet.

It's a bit of a cheat, as it was written when he was pretty young, so maybe I should have posted the Symphony of a Thousand as a departure from his chamber music. This is all that exists; he never finished it.

I have to put in a pitch for the Grateful Dead. Starting with 1960's psychedelia, moving to blues, Americana, jazz, folk, country, bluegrass, rock and roll, and even gospel.

Gospel, huh? How about this?

Genesis certainly changed when Peter Gabriel left, although it did take a couple albums for them to complete the transformation. This is from the first album after Gabriel left.

Why is this thread allowed? It has nothing to do with basketball?
You must be new here. Every off season there are a bunch of music threads. They are allowed by the mods. They are marked as OT, so you can choose to ignore them.

Or five days ago for Walpurgisnacht. Which I totally gorgot to celebrate. It’s all about villainy.
I didn't even know about that celebration. I think pretty much every day of the calendar year is commemorating something.
