During the slow off-season, my mind drifts in unexpected ways as I look forward to the next NC quest. For example, a password I occasionally use on line (you know, mystical combo of letters and letters) is "KML43," meant to be a toughie for hackers not named Nan.

And the other evening, my talented daughter was refreshing her repertoire on our elegant 1913 Model B Steinway Grand Piano. She played my favorite Duke Ellington piece, "(National Flag) Blue Indigo." She followed that up with "Sophisticated Ladies" and images of Kaleena and Bria flashed in my mind.

She shifted to "Chorus Line," and it really hit home as she played "One," as the lyrics made me think especially of Stewie. To refresh your memory, here are some key lines from "(Thirty) One":
"One, singular sensation, every little step she takes.
One, thrilling combination, every move that she makes.
Give her your attention,
Do I have to mention?
She's the ONE!"

Anyone else experience such musical UConn fantasies?

(N.B. "Who Let the Dogs Out?" was claimed, I believe, by the 2002 team and I did the link for Queen's "We Are the Champions!" recently.)

Your thoughts?

Wow, what a great question, identifying songs most appropriate for each player. Coaches as well

Funny, I kinda had this same mental process a few years back with our championship softball team - didn't have a song for every player, but I definitely associated certain songs - Roxette's "The Look", and Lauper's "She Bop" among others - with certain players. I contemplated working up a play list for the entire team, but, never got around to it. Pro baseball players have done this sort of thing for a while now - relief pitchers have their selection played when they enter a game, batters have their tune played when they come to the plate. Good topic.

I assume Neil's Sweet Caroline is a given.

I assume that you Kib, especially you, haven't forgotten the music I found "suitable" for Diana back in '04.

I can't find the final version but this is the best one I dug up. Some issue with it but all I can come up with. Old technology. Need flash player for it to work and you need to wait a while for it to download but, it is vintage DT. Hope it runs for at least some of you.

Wonderful post!

The Script - "Hall of Fame" ft will.i.am. Gives me chills everytime I listen to it and think about our girls beating ND then winning the NC!

How about one for Geno, from "Fiddler on the Roof"?

"If I Were a Rich Man!"

Or, for Geno to honor Chris Dailey:

Your concern for my health is deeply appreciated but totally unnecessary. And, frankly, unwelcome. I feel sufficiently robust to continue placing cheerful posts on the Boneyard. You, sir, have the option of finding and using the "Ignore" button. Once you avail yourself of this device you will never miss my posts and I will be spared your snarky responses. Your turn.

Biff; Of all the great stuff you have done on the Boneyard, this has to be hands down my all-time favorite. Thanks for the memories.

One would have to read it first to realize it's snarky. Then it's too late.

hmmm, usually, but for some people here (nobody in particular) I don't think they have to read it to think it's snarky. ;)
