Instead of complaining here, why don't you guys write the New York Post?

You're simply playing right into his hands. This is exactly the reaction he's waiting for.

Just ignore the a-wipe, or send a rebuttal.

I did as soon as he ragged on KO, I did! But none of it was racism related……he's just a total and there's little we can do…….

He had a controversy when Jay Z was the (small) part owner of the Nets. He asked whether the Nets should change their name to the Brooklym N******or something like that.

Seriously dude , Mushnick is a known racist. Why would you suggest that me or any others on this board are racists for calling out other people who have a pattern of racist behavior. Your takeaway from Mushnick's ridiculous diatribe is that I might be a racist and need to shut up, that's seriously effed up.

It's pretty amazing what some people will defend. I didn't think Mushnick, an ignorant, racist, UConn-trashing jerk, would be one of them, but you never know.

racist or race-baiter. Which is worse? If he has bias in his heart or if he doesn't but uses it to promote his career and appeal to the dregs? If he waned a conversation about "gangsta" culture there are better ways to do it than with his Nets slam. His confusing Jay Z with Tupak-like characters is as blind as his APR confusion with UCONN. But his "baby Momma" filled attack on Adrian Peterson puts it over the top for me

I'm disappointed. I read his column because he rips Francessa in almost every one.
Mushnick is paid to be controversial. That's why he constantly rips Francesa, because he's got the #1 sports radio talk show in the country. Francesa mostly ignores his comments. Why feed the monster.
UConn is a hot topic right now. Mushnick is capitalizing on this right now. Bad publicity is better than no publicity. Bizarre as that sounds/is.

Final exams at UConn begin May 5. UConn’s men’s basketball program has had an atrocious, shameful academic history, the last two-plus decades, among the worst of the worst.
Yet, the NCAA championship team, which hadn’t missed enough school since October, last week was at Fenway to throw out the first ball.
Holy crap, I thought you were making up that language. WTF, did he have stroke or something?

Well he actually said that then he's beyond the I label him as…….but I never saw nor heard that…….

google him. You will be amazed. Try Phil Mushnick Race

I don't know much about him or the racist thing, nor do I want to go down that road. As for this article, he's simply trying to get a rise out of those who read his drivle. Apparently, it's working.

I take college courses and I was also at that game that night. It caused me to FAIL EVERY COURSE.

Quite frankly, hopefully you are not the peg that we need to hang our academic hat on.

I may have FAILED EVERY COURSE because I spent 3 hours watching a baseball game, but at least I have some pride in my word.

Yeah mau, this isn't an overreaction to one foolish article. The dude has a long history of disparaging black culture.

I see that now but why react to this one if everyone already knew?

What I find amusing is that Doc Rivers went there and took his money despite EVERYONE (but me obviously) knowing his history…and Chris Paul and the rest…..c'mon there has to be something they like about the guy am I wrong?

People played for Marge Schott too. I'm sure you wouldn't want to have a beer with plenty of NBA owners. I don't know what's so amusing about it, frankly. Could the players band together and say "we're not going to sign with the Clippers?" Yeah, sure, I suppose, in some fantasy land. If your point is that obviously he's not a bad guy if people want to go play there then I think you probably have a mistaken sense of the dynamic of a professional team. It's not like Sterling is hanging out on the team plane or going bowling with them on the road. Baron Davis has been pretty out in the open about how uncomfortable he was when Sterling was courtside, so it's not like it hasn't been discussed.

Nobody associated with the New York Post has the right to look down on anyone.

Then they shouldn't sign with the man……..why would Doc even accept that job seriously?

I honestly never knew of the man so many things I said were off obviously but still there are so many hypocritical variables here I just don't get it. If he's that BAD then why are they there as there are so many options for the very good players in the NBA to move on???? It's weird and we all know the money is the bottom line but these guys have leverage……so again, there is something about him that they don't dislike besides money.

But he is a real creepy guy now that I've been educated.

if someone is a racist, who cares? you don't listen to them-simple
I have close friends and colleagues of all races and creeds. I choose to assimilate with people based on their values
I am tired of the racist label - hell we all have prejudices - it's human nature
There are people out there who fly the racist term around like crazy yet they themselves are racist as it comes- Al Sharpton comes to mind
I love the BY but this subject doesn't belong here

Let's talk the perennial national champions - UCONN Huskies

Great way to end this thread - BINGO

Before you burn down the NY Post, remember that one of their sports writers was the ONLY ONE who picked UConn to win every tourney game - all others were picking the other team.

That doesn't make him a good guy or even pro UConn. Just means he understands College Basketball. If you write for the Post, be happy you have a job and realize you are a hack.

Not sure if this was already posted, but Phil Mushnick has gone ahead and defended Don Sterling:

Alleged rant not new for Sterling
Longtime NBA followers, executives, employees and media know Clippers owner Donald Sterling as a moneyed fool. Not a terrible man, but a jerk with dough who likes to show off, pop off and, increasingly, think too late, if at all. He’s someone best — and easily — ignored, especially at 81.

Well, not anymore.

Yes, what he allegedly said was painful, indefensible and inexcusable, except why would we expect him, at 81, to be less loony and more discreet and clear-headed than he was at 75 or 78?

Visit any assisted living facility. Or think of that aunt or uncle all of us have known and suffered with a wince because we knew they were off. And they come in all races.

Not everyone, at 81, should reasonably or humanely be held accountable for whatever ugly comments come out their mouths.

At least keep that in mind.

Birds of a feather...

Could totally predict Mushnick writing a defense of Sterling from a mile away. One guy is a billionaire franchise owner and the other a hack columnist for the NY Post but these guys have always held similar viewpoints when it comes to matters of race.

Not everyone, at 81, should reasonably or humanely be held accountable for whatever ugly comments come out their mouths.

How is that a defense? He's accusing Sterling of dementia, not defending the conduct.
