For UConn to beat the top teams they must keep their turnovers down, play good defense, hit their treys and play good defense, . This is a very talented team and their talent can take them along way but only if they dont make dumb mistakes. ND MD Ohio St Tx and SC are all top teams and can given UConn a good game but just like a few years ago when KML and some others were injured and UConn faced a tuff schedule and beat Stanford, Ohio St MD and some other top teams this team can do it. They are very balanced on both sides of the ball. My only concern is you live and die by the jump shot and if we depend on it to much without going to the hoop we could face problems. Im thinking another perfect season.

Lots of bravado in this thread ... what happens if they (gasp) lose a game. Or a few.
If the gasp----happens---UCONN FANS DON'T GET BEATEN BEFORE THE GAME--then we deal with wins as wins --loses as loses.
We are after all THE NUMBER ONE WOMENS BASKETBALL PROGRAM IN THE HISTORY OF THE SPORT!!!!

After the Thanksgiving break.

Nov 29 Chattaanooga
then it starts

Dec 1 Depaul at Gampel
Dec 4 Texas at Mohegan Sun
Dec 7 ND at ND
Dec 11 @ Kansas State
Dec 19 Ohio St at IL Center
Dec 21 @ Nebraska
Dec 29 @ Maryland

A December to Remember.

What genius scheduled Depaul, Texas and ND all within 7 days..................................???.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

I just watched Geno's press conference from last night, and there is only one more game at Gampel (Dec. 1 vs. DePaul) until the end of January. Guess the kids will be playing away from their favorite court for a while.

Yes anything is possible but if they can remain healthy (the key to the season) they'll find a way to win with everyone chipping in to truly win as a team, not individuals!
This could be Geno's & staff's best coaching job in a long time! Getting the utmost performances out of a workman like group!

Expanding on above statement
Now that UCONN is 4 & 0 looking at the next set of games:
1. Chattanooga - Jim Foster takes another hit to the chin from his buddy!.
2. DePaul - Best friend Doug Bruno always gives Geno a tough game but as good a shooting team as they have, traditionally they've been slower and UCONN out runs them to a victory!
3. Texas - Tall & athletic but slower and not as good defensively yet to beat UCONN!
4. Notre Dame - Geno still has The Muffett's number! Same game plan as before. The G's are about even, and they only have one good big, and her game is limited to 8' to 10' from the basket. Our bigs are more talented and can stretch the court from basket to 3 point line, so we have more ways to score! Our defense is starting to round into shape, watch out Golden Domers!
5. Kansas State - Better but still not in UCONN's league!
6. The Ohio State - Lots of talent especially adding the transfers, but they're not a great defense team so Geno shuts down top scorer and UCONN wins!
7. Nebraska - Traditionally good shooters but slow, so UCONN speed & defense comes out on top by 20+!
8. Maryland - Geno doesn't like Miss Pep Talk so he'll find a way for his players to pull a victory out!
Not easily but if healthy they have 9 really good athlete's that play UCONN style BB and they do have that "chip on their shoulder!"

OSU is a good basketball team. While Mitchell is the center of their offense they also have Mavunga (12.7 pts, 11rbs) from ND and Calhoun (14 pts, .407 3pt%) from Duke. That will be a tough game on the road.
That game is at home.
