Mullins turnaround jumper

Not sure if anyone noticed the similarity of Mullins’ sick turnaround jumper with the one Dybsanta was throwing up on us. It’s an elite level shot and when Dybsanta was doing it against us I felt his talent was something we could only dream of. Turns out Mullins has the same move in his bag. I hope we see a lot more of it.
I said to my brother, “that was Kobe-esque”

Dom Amore wrote an article on Mullins and spoke to his former high school coach for some quotes. It's in today's Courant. Worth a read.

“You know, when you come into town, the sign says ‘Welcome to Greenfield,’ and at the bottom it says ‘Braylon Mullins, Mr. Basketball.'” Meredith said. “They put that up last summer before he left. You see a UConn flag here and there, where that was never a thought here before. He’s the talk of the town, because he’s a great kid and comes from a great family, and everybody’s rooting for him and supporting him, wanting him to be great and showcase what we’ve seen since he was a little boy.”

‘Talk of the town,’ Braylon Mullins breakout party rocks CT, Kansas, and Greenfield, Ind.

That turnaround shot can't be defended (other than if some 7 footer is right on him and knows he's gonna shoot it). Hoping to see many more of those swish through the net this year!
6 feet 6. Just like Bernard King with the turnaround J. Hope we see more of this. King became just about unstoppable.

Don't forget it was also a fade away which made it so smooth.

Don’t forget it’s also a big vertical which made it so tough, but he made it look easy.
But also, it was right down the pipe, the best angle. Any shot you get off clean right down the pipe is a good shot.

Thanks @RuffRuff for the alt access - the line is amazing: "College coaches would come in, and he’d take 500 shots, 25 or 30 at each spot, at 94 percent.”

Granted that's not with people in his face or rushing at him, but imagine if he can shoot 60% from 3? That would be legendary territory.

Where do you get these stats? Stew has certainly been a better defender, but the phrase "elite defense" just seems strange.
college bball reference website. It's their DRtg

Yeah, I feel like I haven’t seen elite defense from Stewart. With the rise in Mullins play, it will be better for Stew to spell more of Alex. Seems his defense and size would be better on the opposing 4 vs 3 all game

Kid has one good game and we start comparing him to the best player in the league. Let’s slow down a bit
