All time faves: first place "Casablanca". I watch it at least once a year every year, and I've been doing it for the last 50 years.

Horror: Dracula is my favorite monster, but for films: "Bride of Frankenstein" , "Carrie", and "The Exorcist". "Silence of the Lambs" is great, recent fave "Let the Right One In."

Comedy: Classics: "The Bank Dick", "Night at the Opera" , "Ninotchka", and "Bringing Up Baby": Mel Brooks: "Young Frankenstein" and "The Producers." Others "Groundhog Day" "Amelie" and "Moscow on the Hudson"

The movies above all qualify. Death of Stalin has made the rotation for me.

Smokin Aces - this movie is just fun. Monster cast for a little indy.

I would add a few movies where I don't necessarily watch the whole movie any more, but do watch scenes over and over.

Thomas Crown Affair (Pierce Brosnan version). I really just watch the last 30 minutes.

The poker scenes from Rounders, especially the final one vs. Teddy KGB.

Primal Fear - Richard Gere cross-examining John Mahaney is a great scene. Mahaney was a very underrated actor that was an insurance agent until he was like 40 years old.

I like the final match from Battle of the Sexes, mostly because Steve Carrell is fantastic and the music is pretty good.
 
Pretty much what everyone else has mentioned. Simple stuff that if I get distracted I can get right back to movie without missing a thing.

I have all of those on DVD. I used to watch them often, but haven't been for a while now. There's probably an endless number of movies I'll stop and watch part of if I'm flipping channels on TV and I come across them. Commercials drive me nuts though.
 
Have probably watched Pulp Fiction, Napoleon Dynamite, and Big Lebowski 10+ times each.

Wife watches National Lampoons Christmas Vacation in an endless loop every winter while wrapping gifts

The Bond movies seem perfectly suited for this sort of thing. Goldeneye and Casino Royale especially for me.

Some recent ones that I always seem to linger on when they’re on HBO or whatever are Ready Player One and It.
 
There are plenty of movies that I have seen and enjoyed over and over again. I would guess there are several hundred of them. These films range all the way back to the silent era to modern day, and include many different genres. Here is a very small sampling:

Die Another Day is my go to Bond movie. Halle Barry is smoking and the Jaguar/Aston Martin car scenes are cool. Plus the whole Cuba vibe.
 
Back Again: Drama All the President's Men, The Leopard, the Bicycle Thieves, Best Years of Our Lives, On the Waterfront, Spotlight, and The Bridge of Spies.

War: Bridge on the River Kwai, The Longest Day, Glory, Gettysburg, The Train, and Hurt Locker.

I am trying to balance classic and newer films, but while I am not trapped in the past; I am swimming upstream. I admit it I watch a lot of movies. As McArthur said: "I will return."
 
I almost always get sucked into Contact. The Thin Red Line and Full Metal Jacket too.

Contact is so well written that I get sucked in to it, especially the scene where Jodie Foster's character hears the signal. You feel the awesome power of that moment in a way that most movies don't capture with their big plot turns.

It’s really so good. The sound design for the movie as a whole was incredible, but that pulsing sound they created was truly awesome like you said.

David Fincher’s movies always draw me in too. Fight Club, The Game, Seven, Zodiac, Panic Room.
 
"A Good Year." I have it on DVD but I'll often watch it if it's on TV as well. Critics hated it, maybe audiences as well, but I think it's really good.
 
I agree. Contact is tough to stop watching. The same with The Right Stuff.

Agree with most of the above but surprised at the under-representation of stupid comedies, for which I am a total sucker. Superbad and Talladega Nights are two that immediately come to mind for me.
