movie trailer thread?

Here we go, continuing the recent trend of blue collar workers who are actually next level black ops guys. This is the second go around in the genre for Statham, doesn't appear to be related to the previous one.

Oh hell yeah, I'm completely in. I hope he's got a few more in him, and while he still looks great and dangerous at 57, it's probably not more than a few.

I don't know, Liam Neeson is 72 and he's still doing it. Probably will be til the day he dies. He might not be convincing, but that isn't stopping the movie studios from green lighting stuff.

Fair point. OTOH, I have a hard time watching Stallone trying to pull it off.

Or Bruce Willis. I've flat out refused to watch anything he's been cast in for probably 5 years or so.

Seems like I've already seen stuff declaring this will be a disaster. A trailer dropped a couple hours ago. Looks interesting to me. I don't even care about the plot, just getting more of Florence Pugh as Yelena is good enough for me. And David Harbour as Red Guardian. And Hannah John-Kamen returning as Ghost.

Based on their recent history, the smart money is on disaster

Maybe? I've seen people complain it's basically the same thing as "Moon," but this actually has a budget. And some action.

Does this look appealing to anyone? Not doing much for me. Not sure this will be any better than the Ioan Gryffudd, Jessica Alba, Chris Evans, Michael Chiklis, Julian McMahon versions of Fantastic 4. "Captain America: Brave New World" is about to open and the trailers for that aren't moving the needle for me either. Looks like Marvel is going to continue to misstep in Phase 5 or whatever they're into now.

Here's a franchise that is never going to end. Just keep rebooting it. Well ScarJo keeps finding herself attached to big projects.

Weird concept, yet looks oddly interesting. Michaela Watkins is one of those actresses, been in an a bunch of stuff, you recognize her even if you don't know her name. Aaron Ashmore playing middle aged dads now? Where does the time go. I have absolutely no idea which movies/shows were him rather than his twin brother, I don't think they've ever done anything together and I could never figure out which one was which.

Well here's something I never expected to get a sequel.

edit--I thought this looked like a theatrical release but I'm seeing it will be streaming on Prime the beginning of May

I watched that movie with my mom over the holidays. About a half hour into it she said you can shut this off now. I said I'm actually enjoying it and then the next hour or so was dreadful. Blake Lively is such a bad actress it's kind of comical.

Looks like maybe a half decent B grade movie mining familiar territory...but I think they've got me w/ Phoebe Tonkin playing a femme fatale. Yes please!

Not gonna bother w/ trailers...but we have YEARS later sequels to Happy Gilmore and Freaky Friday (w/ Linsday and Jamie Lee) coming up. Lord help us.

While I'm doing the get off my lawn routine, why is Pedro Pascal in EVERYTHING? That guy is so overexposed. I really don't find him to be a particularly good actor.

"Trap" (2024)

Josh Hartnett stars in this M Night Shyalaman movie. He's a serial killer who takes his daughter to a concert. During the show, the police and FBI surround the arena.

Overall, its entertaining. Not worth a second watch, tho.

Him and Mamoa.

I turned that off part way in. Why is this in the trailer thread though?

Hmm, could be interesting. This series always takes a long time between films, but not nearly as long of a gap as between the original and the sequel. Why does it look like Morbius wandered into this franchise?

Not a movie, but a series coming to Apple+. Adaptation from a sci fi series of novellas that I thoroughly enjoyed. On the fence a bit after seeing the trailer. Looking at the cast list, absolute nobodies other than lead actor Skarsgard.
