movie trailer thread?

Not a movie, but a series coming to Apple+. Adaptation from a sci fi series of novellas that I thoroughly enjoyed. On the fence a bit after seeing the trailer. Looking at the cast list, absolute nobodies other than lead actor Skarsgard.

I read this book series and I really liked it. It's quite clever and rather different. I think Apple will probably do a great job with it.

The first 2 were fun, so I'm probably down for this one. Justice Smith though, not quite sure why but that kid just annoys me. Doesn't have any trouble landing rolls though.

Read the book this is adapted from a while ago, had completely forgotten about it. Same author as "The Martian."

Series, not a movie. I thought I heard something about Taylor Kitsch returning, wondered how, it's because it's a prequel.

Luc Besson going gothic horror? That's quite a departure. Dracula never really went away, but it feels like he's been on quite the come back tour the last several years. No more shiny mopey teen vampires hanging out in the woods in the Northwest.

So not quite a trailer, but I keep hearing the ad for Marvel's latest revision of the Fantastic Four. Man, it sounds horrifically bad. Seems like everything Disney touches now crap.

More like everything Pedro Pascal touches is crap. My daughter says Thunderbolts is good. She's been very critical of recent Marvel stuff. As for Fantastic Four, the casting looks great except for Pedro (Vanessa Kirby is perfect). The retro setting is very smart. I still have some hope.

Agree he looks totally wrong as Reed Richards. It seems like he is part of a Disney stable of actors and they just decided to pound the square peg into that particular round hole.

The casting done on the 2005 Fantastic Four movie was very good in my opinion, Ioan Gruffudd as Mr. Fantastic. Jessica Alba wasn't a perfect physical match to Sue Richards, but she did a nice job in that role.

The little dialogue snippes I've heard and the trailer on this year's movie seemed pretty lame. Disney has shown an impressive ability to completely misuse any property. I'll wait and see what you think of it.

Caught the new Jurassic Park this weekend. Seeing the first trailer for “The Odyssey” was worth it. Looks like the story is getting the movie it deserves.

I can’t find the trailer anywhere. There are a bunch of fake ones out there.

Need a thread just for Nolan movies.

Yeah, while 2005 wasn't a great movie the cast wasn't the problem. I think everyone from this go around is miscast, with the possible exception of Vanessa Kirby. The trailers continue to give me zero incentive to see the movie.

There are almost no reasons to see any Marvel/Disney movie. It’s the movie version of terrible fast food.

Totally bonkers, yet intriguing? Did somebody finally give Molly Gordon the lead role? I've been asking for that for years. That and Geraldine Viswanathan is a pretty good start.

Looks about as interesting as a Marvel/Disney movie.
