Listening to the heartbreaking ASU loss yesterday Sun Devil announcer Jeff Munn predicted Oregon State would upset South Carolina. So what's the most likely upset today?

I don't suppose Oregon State is the most likely upset, but it could happen, so I voted for it out of Pac-12 solidarity.

QUICK HITTERS:
  • Oregon State has scored first in 12 of its 19 games this season.
  • Over its last 11 games, Oregon State has shot 48.5 percent from the floor, while holding its opponents to 37.8 percent shooting.
  • This week marks Oregon State's first games in the state of Texas since the Beavers beat Baylor in the 2016 Elite Eight in Dallas.
  • The Beavers are shooting a blistering 46.1 percent from beyond the arc over their last 11 games.
  • Oregon State has won nine of its last 11 games, with three of those victories coming over ranked opponents. Both of OSU's losses during that stretch came against Stanford.

If Oregon State was playing a #2 seed or lower today, I would for sure pick them to win in the second round. But, not against SC.

When was the last time a #1 seed lost in the second round? Has it ever happened?

Duke (1) falls in the Round of 32 (2009)

A one-seed falling in the first two rounds is a rarity, and only happened once in the past decade. Despite current WNBA stars Jasmine Thomas (Connecticut Sun) and Karima Christmas-Kelly (Dallas Wings) combining for 27 points, the Blue Devils couldn’t hold off Michigan State (9). Duke shot only 27 percent from the floor, and the Spartans took the game with a convincing 63–49 win.

If Iowa wins over Kentucky, is that really an upset? I know seedings are seedings but this is really a 4.5 seed vs 4.5 seed in my opinion. I also think Iowa may have better depth inside with Cnziano and Goodman than people give them credit for. Goodman has impressed me throughout the Big10 tournament and their first game on Sunday.

Iowa's defense is going to be the question, especially if Howard decides to take over the game for Kentucky. I also think Clark has to be careful and stay out of foul trouble.

Well at least we'd get to share Triad's misery if this goes poorly for South Carolina. Good company there.
