OT: Most addictive computer game(s) you played?

Too many to name.

My favorite story is that my wife, who is not a gamer and never has been, played 500+ hours of Witcher 3. The game came with our Xbox One and I had no intention of playing it. She decided to try it one slow summer day and became hooked. It was kind of scary; she was a different person for two months. There was one Saturday where she woke up, didn't bother to eat breakfast, and fired up the game, and played 18 hours that day. I had a talk with her after that lol.

That was six years ago now. She still hasn't played another videogame.

Red Dead Redemption 2 made the pandemic feel like a long weekend for me.

The Last of us. Havent played in about a year but i have played it for the better part of the last 7 years since its original release. The sequel was an absolute travesty and soured me a bit but i still do love the original. Just a powerful story that has stayed with me.

Madden. I was addicted. It was bad. I would call out of work for two days every time a new Madden was released. I quit cold turkey once I started having kids. Last one I bought was when Vince Young was on the cover
Good for you. You would be upset to see how awful the new games are

Oblivion and Skyrym, from The Elder Scrolls. Probably the two greatest games ever.
Civilization, various versions. The turn based games really soak up the hours without you noticing.
Dragon Age Origins
SimCity 2000

Downloaded Oregon trail the other day based on a nostalgic whim. Some things should be left as nostalgic memories…..

Aw, didn't it feel good to die of dysentery again?

Oh yes Elder Scrolls has to be up there too

Wasteland was a PC favorite of mine in the early 90's, I don't like what they did with the subsequent sequels and whatnot. I originally played Knights of the Old Republic on Xbox, then played II on my PC... I was recently able to actually get them cheap as digital downloads for my Xbox One, that was HUGE! Also loved Front Page Sports Baseball in the mid 90's. I guess I have some obscure choices!

My wife, who will get into a game now and then (more casual games now), and I used to play the original Halo together, cooperatively, when we were dating. It was my xBox and we lived a couple of hours from each other, so I sometimes played ahead. One weekend she arrived at my house and was upset that I had played ahead. So, she starts playing on her own what I had covered alone to catch up. But it's mid-day, and the room had a lot of windows so there was glare. So, she grabs a couple of bar stools and a sheet and builds herself a glare-free tent over the TV. About six hours later, I poked my head in to ask if she wanted to take a break for dinner.

I already knew she was a keeper, but that day removed any doubt.
