the game according to an article in the morning paper. That sounds like tonight....but it could mean
tomorrow as well. I'm still hoping against hope that she opts for year 5 ...but I figure she will make the right call for the right reasons. An all-timer for sure.
 
I hope she goes pro. Ultimate that is what she wants to do. She is play her best basketball of the year right now. She is likely going to be drafted high. Her knee doesn't seem to be giving her any issues. Follow your dreams go pro Morgan...
 
My guess is that she already knows and has known for some time what she wants to do. The coaching staff, Geno and CD at least, also know. The true sign is if she already has an agent like Mo and Stewie (to the extent permitted by the NCAA).

I have faith that she will make the right choice to go pro, follow the dream, travel the world playing BB, partying with teammates, hangout with Breanna and Mojeff.
 
I believe the WNBA rules are this:
You need to declare by a certain day, unless you are still playing in which case you have to announce within 24 hours of your last game. We are past the regular deadline, so she will have to respond tonight or tomorrow.
 
Reminder that the WNBA draft is Thursday April 14. Hmmm...I wonder if Kelsey Minato...the West Point star....will be given
the green light to enter the draft and defer /adjust her service responsibilities if she makes a team?

Yes, exactly. The deadline was yesterday (Monday) for those who were already eliminated from the tourney.

I hope she stays, but am happy with whatever choice she makes. I just don't see the downside of a delayed pro career for someone who most likely cannot physically play both WNBA and overseas - the money just isn't good enough. If she disliked college then go pro, but reports are she loves the Uconn environment from team to academics.
 
I think a fifth year for Morgan makes a lot of sense. If her leg is good another year, she will have proven to pro scouts that she is worth the investment of a high draft pick and will be even more in demand. If not, she will have earned a Masters at age 22 while doing what she loves, and she will have set herself up for a possible career in coaching if that appeals to her. Of course only Morgan truly knows whats is best for her. I'm sure all UConn fans will applaud her decision whatever it is.

Very easy to guess. If she doesn't go to the WNBA, she doesn't have to announce anything. The deadline will expire tomorrow and she wouldn't care.

If UConn wins and she plays well it would be the perfect way to end her career....in the 1% chance the team looses I could see her wanting to return to wrestle the championship back one more time

HoopsFan21 - I couldn't agree more. There are two perspectives here. Hers and ours. Morgan is a senior academically. She's eligible to graduate and move on. Of course, its been well documented that she is also a red shirt junior athletically, which means she can come back for one more year, we all know that. So, the question of the moment is "what is Morgan going to do"?

She knows that if she returns, next year's team will not be the same as it this year. Having done all that she came to UConn to do, she may feel that its time to move on. There's no better time to leave than when you can go out of the door for the final time holding a national championship trophy over your head.

I also think that Morgan made up her mind weeks ago, and has already informed Geno what she's going to do. She's just waiting for the appropriate time to announce her decision.
We can wish and speculate all we want to. I believe the decision has already been made. As other posters have suggested, I think Morgan should do what's best for her. She has fulfilled her commitment to Geno and the program.

Morgan has a lot of new adventures and experiences after college in front of her. There's no better time to turn the page in her book of life, and begin a new chapter. I'm too much of a Morgan Tuck fan to want her to stay for me and my selfish reasons. I can continue to enjoy her as she plays at the next level.

The fact that Morgan has been playing pain free WITHOUT the knee brace for the past month, has been duly noted by WNBA coaches and general managers. There's no doubt that Morgan can play at the next level. The only pause for concern in the minds of WNBA GM's is the status for her knee. Will it hold up? Can she endure the rigors of another 5 months of
a WNBA season (April 24 Training camps open - September 18 End of regular season) on the heels of a long 5 month college season?

Note: The duration of the WNBA season is extended this year because of the 2016 world Olympic games. The WNBA will take a break from July 23 to August 24.

If the medical staff at UConn gives her a clean bill of health, there's no doubt that Morgan will be taken high in the first round. Morgan's size, skills, maturity and pedigree (coming from UConn) will make her a great get for any team that drafts her. The WNBA draft is only 9 days away.

I personally wish Morgan good luck and God's speed in whatever direction she chooses to go.

Did not Ms Tuck participate in Senior Night? Ad what was written earlier about having to make an announcement makes sense. No announcement at all pretty much means that she is staying. Would it be possible to declare for the draft without an official announcement? Yes, but the draftees name would still appear on a list.

There was a recent article that says Morgan has been pain free over the last several weeks and quoted Morgan as saying paraphrased: ( "it feels just like my other knee"). She has also been playing without a brace for several games now. There was also news in the broadcast that part of her treatment was done through UCONN in consultation with a chiropractor. This (UCONN medical treatment) is something she will have to give up & replace if she goes pro. That is a huge risk because there is no telling which WNBA team drafts her or how good the replacement medical staff will be.

Not tonight if she's leaving.
 
Morgan must renounce her remaining eligibility (i.e., declare for the draft) by written notice to the WNBA within 24 hours of the conclusion of tonight's game. That is all that is required of her to enter the draft. How she reveals her decision to the public is up to her. She said that she'll reveal that decision tonight after the game to the assembled media. I guess you can call it an "official announcement" but it certainly is not required and doesn't by itself mean she's decided to go pro. She could announce to the assembled media that she's decided to stay another year. She told the media before senior day that she would announce her decision after the conclusion of the NCAA tournament and I'm not sure she knew then what the decision would be.

I have no information on Morgan's relative academic prowess, but she impresses me as being extremely bright. If she came to me for advice (no one ever comes to me for advice) I'd counsel her to return for a fifth season, enter graduate school, and set a course on a profession in which she can look forward eventually to making some REAL money (as opposed to WNBA money)... and enjoy a lifetime of satisfaction! But that's just me.

Here's my plan for Morgan: :rolleyes: She elects to go pro and gets picked by the CT Sun. After the season is over she declines to play abroad because she'd be crazy to play year round on a knee that probably will forever be uncertain. So she stays around, enrolls in an MBA or some other graduate program at UConn, helps out with team practices, and thereby kills two birds with one stone.
