Her coach on her potential:

The sky's the limit for Tuck, Smith said, if she could focus and remain active an entire 32 minutes consistently.

"She could be a kid that averages 40-45 points and 20-25 rebounds, and she isn't quite around there yet," Smith said.

Yikes!

i think her time at UCONN will help her focus for every minute she's in. probably not as a freshman - we can see where KML, Kiah and Brianna have struggled at times their first year, but i agree with her coach and with you - the sky is the limit for Morgan.

I was surprised that the article mentioned her as a guard. I find it hard to believe that she's playing the guard position as a 6'2" player. I think they may have erred but apart from that, the article was a wonderful piece. Over the years I've heard of many girls and guys who scored ridiculous amounts of points, averaging over 30 points and 10 rebounds a game and then went to a school where they were just another player. I'm absolutely sure that Morgan is NOT one of those people and that she'll be a major player for the Huskies over her four years in Storrs. It may or may not be immediately but she'll surely have an impact. What I'm thrilled about is what kind of person she appears to be, how hard she works to improve and the impact she has on her teammates and even the opponents she plays again. Very very nice to hear!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow, is next year going to be an incredible experience with MT, BS, and MJ coming in to join those already here (with only Tiff departing!) However, trying to keep my focus on our current season that despite 2 losses is exceeding my pre-season expectations. How fortunate we are!!!!!

I was surprised at the "guard" label too. I think she plays mostly inside.

Some facts on Morgan:

She was the national FOY three seasons ago.

Her team won 3 straight championships. I think she had about 40 in the finals last year.

She played with a super talent, Ariel Massengale, and her own sister for 3 years.

This year's team has EIGHT Division 1 scholarship players.

In short, she is accustomed to winning and playing with good/great players. Even with a strong supporting cast, she stands out as a mega-star.

.

Let's see if I've got this right. Say Morgan Tuck is at level N. So if she takes it to the next level, she's at level N+1?

.

Its really hard to imagine when the Trifecta gets here next season how good UCOnn will be. I hope we dont expect to much to fast. These kids have a learning curve. Its going ot take time to adjust and focus under Genos rules. We are going to be very good, but it will take time. Breanna Morgan and MJ will be flat out superstars. With the possibility or should I say probability of DD and Sierra Calhoun coming the following year we will flat out be over the top. The next few seasons we could have the greatest group of rostered players ever and my 195-0 could go out the window with back to back to back to back .....NCs and maybe more..................lol so long as we stay healthly and nobody transfers for those who dont think its undestood LOL .

No real need to teach or emphasize the use of a wide low base to block out.

Right you are! The Bolingbrook High School web page has her as a forward.

Geno mentioned we shouldnt lose a game beginning next season. What about the rest of this season? Its almost inimaginable how good this team will be. Morgan will be a Monster. Breanna the Rejector and MJ the Water Bug. Anticapation. Meanwhile back to the present season. We're improving.

Is it possible to have the best player at each position on one team?

Moriah Jefferson - 1 (with Brianna Banks coming off the bench)
Bria Hartley - 2 (with Caroline Doty coming off the bench)
KML - 3 (with Kelly Faris as the 2nd best)
Breanna Stewart - 4 (with Morgan Tuck as the 2nd best)
Stefanie Dolson - 5 (with Kiah waiting in the wings)

On Deck: Diamond DeShields, Cierra Calhoun

CF...great post, a fine way to start my morning. Thanks

Cferr this looks like Murders Row more powerful then the Yankee Lineup . This is truly a Dream Team.
