NEWS: "UConn women’s basketball announces freshman Morgan Cheli underwent a successful procedure on Wednesday to repair her ankle injury. While Cheli is expected to make a full recovery, per the release, UConn says she will miss the remainder of the 2024-25 season."

Prayers for successful recovery and great career for next 3 years..!!
Go Morgan..!

Insane. The amount of injuries this team endures. Do we know if it happened in game or practice? An unusual amount seem to take place in practice as well. I’m not suggesting anything other than some crazy bad luck

She has had an unlucky basketball career as far as I can tell. Missed significant time during her junior and senior years of high school. And now missed at least a third of her first college season.

Is this a practice injury? It seemed like she played in a game and was fine. And then they next time we saw her she was wearing a boot.

It is not surprising that more injuries happen in practices than in games, given how much more time the team spends practicing than playing.

Here's hoping for a full and speedy recovery and an end to the succession of injuries that have befallen her in the last few years.
Considering that she's a freshman, I find nothing that cannot be remedied in her performance this year. She's got a high motor and basketball IQ, and I expect that she will shed any hesitancy she displayed this year next season. I fully expect that she will be a UCONN standout in the nextc3 years.

I am down on next years recruits not totally but a little, and the future of the team, but Morgan was a player I was high on, as someone said, this time she’s missing is really important for her future, this exact scenario is why Paige and Azzi are taking a while to show that we have the best backcourt in the country which I know they are but without consistent playing year in and out, it impedes your growth. Morgan’s in game experience is really important for our future.
