Where should we be ranked on Monday. It's kind of a joke we aren't ranked this week but I think we move up to around #17. Our resume got a lot better today, we have now beaten #1 Florida, #11 Cincy and Memphis twice. 5 ranked AAC teams come Monday.

#22. If they vote UConn ahead of Memphis, which they should, then #21.

I'd go 22.

Jump Ohio State, Texas, Iowa and New Mexico.

If UK and Mich State lose we may get over them as well.

Love to chat about it and think we should but once again….

Just win………it will all be fine…….

Win the last 2 back in the #5 seed race at 25-6 - RU and a lost at LVille - 6 or 7 seed likely at 24-7………

No matter where we are ranked and where we are seeded the Huskies will play someone in the first round who can beat them on a given night and if they advance the high seed they will play will be someone WE can beat….

It's gonna be fun the last few weeks, sit back and enjoy!! If they find their offense teams will not be happy playing them that's for damn sure!

I'll probably regret this in the coming weeks, but I'm not buying Mich. St. this year. I don't think Izzo's group is going to magically turn it on in the tournament (even though they do that pretty much every year).

Also, speaking of polls, with 2 losses this week (one of them a bad one at home), there is a pretty good argument to be made that Mich St. shouldn't even be ranked next week, but there is almost no chance of that actually happening.

There is no freaking way Kentucky and MSU should be ranked ahead of us, they both have more losses and Kentucky has only beaten one ranked team.

We will be ranked behind Memphis. Memphis will be 15-20 I think. We come in at 21.

Memphis will move up after losing to Houston? I thought if you lose, you deserve to drop?

They beat #7 Louisville. Although I agree with you, they won't. Even if they move up to 17 or 19, they will still be ahead of UConn. Its easier to jump ahead places once you're in the T25 rather than jumping 7-8 teams if you have receiving votes.

Everyone here has been bemoaning a horrible Houston loss all season.

Memphis has 1 more loss than UConn, has lost 2 to UConn, lost to Houston (which was the loss that stung UConn this year in the polls) and UConn has 2 wins this week, including against #11 Cincinnati, a team that beat Louisville. There is absolutely no reason for Memphis to move up. It defies reason.

I agree with you 100% but the NCAA doesn't use reason.

We'll they are so banged up. If they were 100% they would be a load but right now only about 60%!

MSU has lost 6 of their last 10 games....they should not even be ranked!

Everyone said last week that if you lose, you drop. That was the reason for Memphis being ahead of UConn. The Ville/Cincy victories today cancel out. Memphis picked up a Houston loss.

So, now the things said last week have to apply, no?

Memphis has had a schizo week and should tread water around #21. We deserve to move up to #20 or so, but might end up #22-23. Remember that the rankings are based on averages and not a single, omnipotent pollster striving for self-consistency.

Assuming we take care of business on Wednesday, Saturday @ Louisville will be a great bellwether of our March chances. A win against Ville, and we will have demonstrated we belong among the top 15, a 4-5 seed, and talked about as a legitimate contender. A loss against Ville, and we remain deep in the chase pack, no better than a 6 seed and a possible "sleeper" that nobody talks about.

As much as we like playing the underdog card, we're in a precarious position as far as our national reputation and in order to remain among the blue bloods we need to be on the minds of the talking heads more often than not.

The secret to moving up in the rankings is.... Being a media darling.
If you're Puke, KenSucky or Ex'Cuse... The only way you don't move up, is to lose twice in a week, but you'll fall 1-2 places, but still highly ranked. If they split the week, they move up even if they beat Community U, since Community U is considered a "good win" by the voters.

If you're someone like UConn, you need to have 2-3 top 25 wins in a week in order to crack the Top 25. If we lose to an NCAA Tourney team, it's not good enough for the voters. That's just the way it is... Popularity contest... Like the McDonald's All American Game.

Do you look at the polls weekly?

You do realize when you beat a top 10 team in one game, and lose on the road the other, pollsters are going to cancel those out, or most likely give more weight to the win. Been happening for years.

Last week we lost at home, and beat Temple, we are going to move down, not sure why that is hard to understand.

Nor is it hard to understand that polls are week to week, not a resume review, you are so hung up on this Memphis thing, it is so bizarre.

All year long people have been bemoaning a loss to Houston for UConn. All year. Every single day. Every day. Without fail.

Quite frankly if you're going to say to me that a road loss to Houston is better than a home loss to SMU, I am going to say you are out of your mind.

Memphis was a 7 point fav at Houston, we were a 6.5 point fav vs SMU at home..........

You ignore the fact two games were played in those weeks, we beat Temple in one, they beat Lville in theirs. Are these equal?

And people on this site bemoan the houston loss, and people on this site do not vote in the AP poll. Weren't you also so upset with the fact that UVA was ranked ahead of us a few weeks ago??

ESPN bought the tournament. We drop to a bubble team on the outside looking in.
