Monday (3/25): NCAA 2nd round games

ESPN switching Md-UCLA from ESPN3 to ESPN -- and rightly so, 4Q as exciting as the third. 74-76
 
You gotta love these South Dakota State kids.

How many other teams have a player like Myah Selland, whose grandfather built a basketball "court" in the hay loft of his barn to give his granddaughters a place to play?

She and Guebert have been absolute studs in this game.
 
I don't think UCLA really wants Drummer taking 3s. Burke got a put back though. Tied up again.
 
Just when I thought UCLA was about to fade they've jumped back in front. 79-76.

A reminder that some of these games get the D-list announcers, thus giving ESPN a reason to not want to go with wide coverage, unless the game is really really compelling.
 
This is a great win for the Jacks, historic for its program.

Three years ago they came within a whisker of upsetting Stanford and reaching the Sweet 16. They didn't fall short this year.

This team is for real. They put a scare in both Baylor and Oregon in the regular season. Now they get a second chance at the Ducks.
 
Congrats to SDSU. In a Tourney lacking many upsets, nice to see them advance.

Maryland 1-13 for 3 and have allowed 2,000 offensive rebounds. Not sure how you can expect to win that way

Whichever team wins, UConn will have a tussle as tough as Buffalo. Both these teams play like honey badgers.

The way they just keep rolling along despite all the adversity, I kind of expect them to beat Iowa.

They'll certainly have the de facto home court advantage. It'll be a really good game either way. Unless there's another upset, it'll be the only Sweet 16 without a clear favorite.
 
Wow, I don't think Maryland wanted to foul there. Especially Dean.
 
I will just say: Hopefully next time around they take one of the hosting spots from the passel of questionable ACC teams and give it to, say, the Summit League :)
 
If UCLA wins, the womens tournament will have a less "chalk" sweet 16 than the men for the first time ever (presumably)

I figured it would only be a matter of time. You could tell NC State was the better team, but KY can be a pesky defensive team. They just don't have a ton of production on offense.
