We need at least a draw in Hamilton. A loss there and it's pretty much impossible to catch Canada considering their remaining schedule is vs. Jamaica and @ El Salvador, CR, and Panama.

If we win, and then beat Honduras at home (really need to be able to roll out of bed and beat Honduras at home), and Costa Rice loses at Azteca, that basically guarantees a top-4 finish. If Panama loses at Azteca, then we just need a draw against them to lock up a top-3 finish.

Essentially, Sunday will determine whether the finish in March is comfortable or nailbiting.

Agree. This is the big game of the three. Should be able to beat the other bottom table minnows. Play your first team.

That said. Getting nothing from the forwards is getting old. Need to find a striker quick or start playing a false 9.

This has been pretty much what I was afraid of:

• we dominate possession but spend most of the match in the 3rd quarter of the field and don't get many dangerous chances
• they score on a cheap counter and that's pretty much that

I really don’t know what to make of Berhalter.

There’s clearly a toughness that this team has lacked in recent years, as they’ve managed to overcome a ton of injuries and roster turnover to continue winning. But you cannot overlook the slow starts, and with this talent, they should be a lot more explosive on the offensive end.

Sometimes, less is more as a coach. He should start with playing his best lineup more often.

Not something that we want to say out loud but with the exception of the road game in Mexico, we need Mexico and Canada to win out from here. They are both going to the World Cup. We still have to stave off Panama and to a lesser extent Costa Rica. I don't want to take the risk against likely New Zealand in a play-in match in October.

This coaching staff refuses to play its best lineups and never has the team prepared. I don’t think Berhalter will ever get the most out of this roster.
