I'm just saying she averages significantly more points and rebounds than Parker or Stewart averaged and she doesn't play but 27 minutes a game. I'm sure those players had similarly low MPG because they played on dominant teams.

I'm not claiming she's the greatest player ever or that she is better than either of the two mentioned. I'm suggesting that to average 23 and 11, that many points and rebounds against a strong schedule, you have to show a fair amount of dominance at some point. I've watched our games this year and know that she has dominated plenty of them.

Yesterday, she dominated the boards, anchored a shut down defense, and scored 15 points -- some of which were in crunch time. She didn't convert a number of pretty close looks against triple teams and she really should have passed some of them out.

She had a huge effect on the game. She was in part responsible for every wide open shot the guards hit.

USC hasn't played the same level of defense, isn't as deep, hasn't been as tough, and due to injury has a couple of question marks in the starting lineup as far as shooting from the perimeter. But still is in the SEC race largely because of how dominant she is. It will be a shame if we are Miss State's only loss and miss out on the conference due to the Tennessee loss without her, which is really looking bad right now.

Please dont compare Wilson to Stewie because it is not even close! Let us not forget how Aja was outplayed by a 5ft 11in post last year named Gabby Williams!

The crowd definitely contributed to the chippyness due to prior bad blood. I don’t think the hostility will be nearly as bad on Thurs as Geno and Dawn get along, they still want to win but will not ignite the crowd. I wonder if Dawn will be on her best behavior with him around. Her angst and anguished theatrics are getting a tad insightful as if her and her team are being persecuted.

Couldn't agree more. There were times Dawn was 10 or more feet on the court as was her one assistant on more than one accession. And I understand 'every time' is a bit of an embellishment but it certainly seems like every time one of her kids gets touched she thinks it's a foul and goes into one of her rants. Certainly a touch of home cooking on Sunday...

Wasn’t it just 2 years ago that the NCAA said it was making freedom of movement a priority in the women’s game. If this is where the women’s game is headed I’m done.

Wow... missed the game... but just saw some clips on ESPN. South Carolina looking extremely physical. Hell poor Katie Lou made it out of Texas with a black eye... what are they going to do to her in South Carolina, and those refs from what I saw in the clips did a piss poor job dealing with what happened. #35 for SC is someone we are going to need to watch.

I also think the coaching strategy of Staley hurt Aja since they kept trying to get it in to her 4 ft from the basket with 4 defenders drpaed on both sides of her instead of trying to loosen it up by feeding her facing the basket from the key for drives / high low which she is very good at based on the few games I have seen. The commentators were saying the same thing. Under the circumstances, Wilson played well especially early on but physical bashing got to her late in the game a bit. Most important, she kept her composure and had good body language throughout.

I wanted her to bring A'ja away from the basket and bring several defenders with her and then make some outside shots and/or feed Alexis in the post.

When you compare the two SC/Mizzou games you recognize that, everything else aside, SC's defense was better at home and Missouri's shooting was off on the road. And that was why the outcomes were different.

Two things in WCBB are a constant: 1) Home teams get the calls and 2) Big name players get the benefit of the doubt, i.e., they get away with more. (In these games, Cunningham and Wilson.)

Our AD just released a statement refuting Pingeton's claims. This is so ugly. How unfortunate.

Tournament or not, I want nothing to do with Missouri. Even if it makes it more difficult for SC to win the SEC, I hope Mississippi State wipes the floor clean with them on Thursday. I wish that program nothing but failure.

I sit 4 rows behind the end of the scorer's table at the visitors' end. Number one, there were several police officers seated in the section behind their bench, number 2, there were mostly Mizzou fans directly behind their bench and number 3, I didn't see anything like that. Unless it happened when Sophie left the court opposite from the bench after the altercation, I don't know when it could have happened.
