Mimi Collins transferring from TN

Looks like the Vols' interior play will rest almost entirely with KK and Brown, although I've heard some say that Horston can also play the 4.

She looked decent at times for a dreadful Tennessee team, I would take her at UConn, if the huskies miss out on a few forward targets for the 2020 class, Collins wouldn’t be a bad pick up.

Well Brown is mostly a stretch 4, so not sure how much interior play she's gonna provide.

Davis only wants/will play the 3 - Davis stopped playing games when Holly moved her to 4 spot last year.

My guess based on current roster:

1) Massengil So/ Horston Fr/ Aussie Fr
2) Z Green So/ Burrell So/ Aussie Fr
3) Davis Jr/ Burrell So
4) Brown Sr (RS Transfer from Wash St)/ Saunders Fr
5) Kushkituah Jr/Key Fr/Harris Sr

Horston and/or Key might take starting spots midseason...
 
I thought she showed good potential this year. Should have no shortage of options.

Wonder if ND would have any interest. She played in HS with Vaughn during Vaughn's senior year.

Dont know how you can not start Horston. She may be their best player.
And no point in listing Harris. She's, um, not good. Burrell is also nothing much. Saunders is #88 PN and not even top 100 at ESPN. Skeptical on her.
Their depth is at guard. They're gonna need to go w/ a 3-4 G lineup.
 
Both her and Westbrook will be arriving in Storrs any day now. My gut tells me so, trust me.
 
She is a good player and was really on of the brightest spots for Tennessee last season. The girl can score from all areas of the floor and seemed to improved defensively at the end of the year.

Bonus points, she is 6-3

Someone will be getting a talented kid soon.

At this rate of transfers at UT, I prefer waiting until Horston and/or other freshman show up on campus before handing out starting spots. Horston will probably start game 1 at PG.

Burrell played out of position (4) last year - she is a 2/3 but got limited PT playing behind Jackson, Zaay, and Davis. She has the nicest shot/form on the team. I expect with better coaching/offensive sets that maximizes current skill sets, Burrell will have a big sophomore jump. Saunders is 6'5 with 3 point shot but will see limited PT unless UT doesn't get a 4 transferring in to play this season.

I get that people shouldn't be counting their chick-ens, but is it not okay to talk about a player who visited the campus for transfer purposes, and who a high school coach with connections has said UConn is very interested in?

Well, this made my morning bagel and coffee more interesting.
Like you said, MM, Niele and/or post Coach Carole Owens certainly had a chance to see her play when they were watching Mik Vaughn. And talk about "fit" could easily be taken care of with a chat with Ms. Vaughn.
I liked what I saw of her in limited viewings.....

U gonna start her already Vowelguy.... ?? Freshmen are real wild cards.... "how can you not" start her... as an unproven incoming freshman.... i think is a crazy statement...

but you have told me before to "take my BS out of here"..... so i will defer to your opinion on this

HIGHLY unlikely Geno would take 2 kids from the same school, esp TN. You need kids who are going to buy in to the system, particularly at UConn where GA places the highest premium on team chemistry. Last thing you would want is 2 outsiders who could be their own clique.
 
I hope Geno is reading this thread. It is getting really funny. :D

I cannot believe that anyone thought that I was being serious with my post about 2 TN transfers coming to UConn but I guess that is how it goes sometimes. Head bang :rolleyes:

Some said Geno was averse to transfers yet Geno had 3 on the same roster just a few years ago.
Don't see an issue here with cliques or team chemistry. They are all outsiders until they sign up and they don't sign up unless they buy into the UCONN system. UCONN needs talent & size, Collins has both. She might have worn that gaudy orange for a year but at least she had the good sense to escape.
