Not great at all. Last year it felt like this conference had the right mix of proven good/great pre-99 Calhoun coaches that may get somewhere in life, truly great coaches, young energetic up and comers. Now it's like:

-Miller gone
-Will Shaka and McDermot ever go deep in a tourney?
-Cooley and Holloway huge step back.
-Pitino not riding with Luis to the end....

I'm much less bullish on this league than I was this time last year.
 
You're like 8th fiddle at Texas as the men's basketball coach. While you're gonna get support it's not the type of support you need to build a championship program.

If ya can’t beat him, hire him that’s a job you gotta take and Xavier should do just fine getting a viable replacement.

I know what you mean, but Shaka has been to a Final Four.

Wow. Will be weird seeing Luke on the sideline against us 2-3x year. I guess we lose BillM to the Muskies.

very possible, hell, I would say likely.

Where is Kobe on this? He has always thought Sean Miller was a selfish sleazeball. I wonder what his reaction to this news would be.
 
Hate the thought of the BE being a stepping stone to bigger jobs. Shaka left Texas (maybe before being fired after a bad year) for Marquette. How the Xavier and Nova jobs get filled will say a lot about the perception of the big east going forwawrd.

Well deserved. Another shot at a big school. And this one wants to throw money around. They are doing their best to buy a football title and have plenty of money to spare. It should be easier to buy a basketball title under a quality coach.

I'd say best of luck to him, but Horns Down.

sucks for the Big East, unless they get another big name like Chris Mack.

We don't know if Sean Miller couldn't win in the Big East. He was snake bitten by injuries the last 3 years.

That was true in the past but the SEC is obviously stressing basketball more so that can change.

Paying the players tons of money somehow makes up for not getting to play "Big Man on Campus." Strange.

Miller is going to be able to get the kind of players he needs to win there. Even Terry was pulling 5 stars there, and it wasn’t for his coaching.

Xavier is going no where. Small Catholic in Cinci isn’t drawing players. There will come a time soon where their ceiling is a S16 max. I’m sure Miller at his age has bigger goals than finishing 4th in the BE.
