Randy is the only constant in this equation we have had a revolving door of assistant coaches. How can you have a continuity f anything when you constantly change assistants? the players are learning completely different systems every year. Crocker was terrible and should have been replaced, but what makes anyone think that Spanos will stay and see the program through? I would say it is going to be a wait and see approach for next year for Randy, but how many of this years coaches will be back? Will Giuffre improve on offense next year or will he leave it to another coach to take over. there are too may variables to contemplate going into next year but one thing is certain. UCONN has a tough time retaining their good assistants.

He will get us some special recruits from Montreal and Manitoba, just you watch. These kids will be dual sport hockey and basketball. We will be REstorred in two sports.

Your assistants pay pool determines your assistants. Rutgers just committed close to 7 or 8 million while our pool is about 1.5 million. This isn't on Randy - it's the university commitment. P5 schools pay more for assistants than UConn pays RE. So he is in a tough spot - he can't keep someone who is successful because of money and opportunity. He can't bring someone experienced in for the money we offer.

If UConn fans want a bigger assistant pool and even a new HC - show up to games, donate to the program and you will be able to get what you want. Right now, at 10K attendance- and a few years away from athletic department profitability - unless a megadonor shows up - this is our lot.

Rutgers agreed to $7.7m. UConn is currently paying $1.8m.
