Cheer on the Big East's Wildcats.
Villanova was overseeded imo, should have been more like a 6 seed. The best win on their resume was Creighton. Wtf was the committee thinking with that one?
Miami is an excellent team defensively and definitely battle-tested from the ACC, which was the most competitive conference this year imoIn another thread, I was told Miami didn't have a chance. It was a nice run but now it's over
Refs definitely gave them every chance to get back in it. I think Miami had 8 or 9 fouls in the 3rd and Nova had none.Seem to be no fouls being called on Villanova since the half
You're leaving out the part where two of Miami's best players were on the bench during that run with foul trouble. When they returned the game changed. Not surprised to see this, Miami has much more size and athleticism than Villanova. They really did anything they wanted in the first 21 minutes, but to their credit, Villanova came roaring back.
Tough day for Siegrist. She had 31 points but she shot 8/29 from the floor. Villanova benefitted greatly when Miami was in the bonus for something like 7 minutes of the third quarter, and was pressing incredibly well.
It was an interesting matchup. You could see how the sheer athleticism for Miami dominated the first half. And then how the patience and smart play dominated for Villanova. In the end, Miami making enough plays to advance.
Agreed, Rooster, and the reality that many basketball teams which make huge comebacks run out of gas/adrenaline once they've caught up.You're leaving out the part where two of Miami's best players were on the bench during that run with foul trouble. When they returned the game changed.
