Both Tyler Lprenzen and ZF were 4-star recruits. TL was a dual threat QB and ZF was a pro-style. Neither improved once they got to Storrs and you could make the case that they both regressed. Nonetheless, both of them had very good W-L records.
While I can understand that they were "4 star" guys, you really have to look at that a little closer. Frazer was a 4-star QB who ended up being 4th in the depth chart for Notre Dame before he transferred. Lorenzen was a 4-star JUCO, which is a world away from being a 4-star high school recruit.

Just an off hand comment... I sure wish I saw Randy Edsall half as engaged as he is tonight at the Fiesta Bowl.

setting up for a chance for RE to win by one; watch how he plays for the fg (milking clock) from the start of this possession

To clarify my point, the cupboard wasn't bare the entire time post-DO. There was some raw material to work with and that raw material came in different shapes and sizes. None of it ever developed in to consistent passers.

"Edsall is a failure already in my book

first game of the first year or not, these players were not executing

and the slim and fast defense is stupid...they just get ran at all day"

I was just going to post this, the Terps will lose to a team that had to sit out many key players, they should be dominating Miami and they are not.

Lets be honest - Even if RE had called that play at UConn last year, no way Frazer could have completed it.

Well, this is interesting. I went in to the game hoping MD would win and rooting against the U. Now I'm rooting real hard for the U. Turns out I won't ever root for Edsall coached teams.

this is why i think we needed a change; RE has a classic underdog mind set -- get the game into the last 5 mins with a chance; perfect for a start up program but you'll never transition to front runners with that mid set.
