I'm really really really glad for Dominic Smith, finally got his chance and has proved everyone right. Edwin Diaz actually has fabulous numbers this year. Jake may 3-peat for Cy Young....

So, that being said - the best part is that Uncle Stevie Cohen will be in charge soon.

No doubt in my mind he'll sign Realmuto.

Absolutely. Agree with everything you said. I’m still afraid to say it but I am starting to get a little confidence in Diaz.

His strikeout rate has been remarkable, but..... He's always one bad pitch away.

So, I never fully got behind this 60 game "season". Without the fans, it never seemed like they are real games that mean anything. The playoff structure is stupid.

That said....can we just get Uncle Stevie on board to start spending money, build up this offseason and play for real next spring?!

It's even more stupid that this playoff structure is going to be a permanent change

In 1985, the Mets had 98 wins. 2nd best in the NL but they finished 2nd in the NL East behind the Cardinals with 101 wins. In the NL, the Dodgers had 95 wins to win the West.

Now? The Mets are 21-27, in 4th place in their division and still have a mathematical 15% chance at the postseason. That's ridiculous. That said, would you want to be someone that faced deGrom in a one game playoff? Even more ridiculous that could/should end your season.

I just read how this guy paid Guy Fieri $100K to take him to Super Duper Weenie. Seems apropos.

Pretty sure that's what Bob Kraft paid for Super Duper Weenie as well.

I think this is pretty much the end of Matz.. He's essentially lost his spot going into next year. It appears that Peterson can be a #3 or #4, with Thor coming back we just need to fill the back end. Porcello and Wacha have been an unmitigated disaster.. Gotta look at what the free agency class looks like for SPs...

Lefties will always have a job. He'll be that 5th/6th inning guy, maybe situational, maybe you can stretch him out if a starter gets shelled in the first couple innings. He's just not consistent enough to be a rotation guy anymore.

Questions I'll stick here...

The player put on 2nd base in extra innings. Is he an earned run if he scores? And is he an "inherited runner?"

Well I'd say that should put an end to the Brodie era. Should be a fun offseason

Stevie Cohen is going to fire Brodie and potentially punch him in the face.

Edwin Diaz seems to have sorta almost kinda figured it out.. Cano hit the hell out of the ball this year, but Kelenic could have been electric because I'm just not a Nimmo fan.

So let's talk about offseason priorities and thoughts?

1. Realmuto
2. Is Thor gonna be ready for 2021?
3. Sign a #3 (F Stroman)
4. Sign a #5 (Wacha and Porcello stink out loud)
5. REALMUTO

I think Peterson could actually be a strong #4 but lord the rest of those guys stink.

I don't hate the bullpen, Shreve & Castro have been more than solid.

I'll disagree with you on 3, I think the move should be re-sign Stroman. And move Rosario for another SP

But agree, Realmuto has to be priority number 1. Would love to get Springer as well but him and Realmuto may be aiming too high

I do understand your point, but I think some team will stupidly throw 100 million at Stroman and there may be bad blood or at least his (in my opinion) selfish decision to preserve his free agency rather than pitch the last year of his contract so he may not even be an option.

Maybe I'm exaggerating but his decision to opt out really rubbed me the wrong way.

Why the demand so hard for Realmuto? What is it about him that you like so much?

He's the best hitting catcher in baseball. I know some prefer the position to be a game manager and a strong defender but Realmuto's bat is just too good to not make a strong run at.

I don't know if I think that's worth it. Ramos hit .288/14/73 for the Mets last year. 141 games. Realmuto hit .275/25/83 in 145 games. Realmuto supposedly wants something like 5 yrs, 130m. I'd take Springer over him in a heartbeat.

The big difference is Ramos can't block a beach ball and Realmuto is one of the 2 or 3 best defensive catchers in the league. Also a very good pitch framer which will help the pitching staff. But the contract does scare me, it's likely it becomes a bad one the last few years

2020 is only 2nd with an asterisk because it was only a 60 game dumpster fire. I can deal with 1973, 2000 and 2015. Not these seasons. Free at last bye bye Wilsucks don't let the door hit u in the a**on the way out. CyGrom deserves another Cy Grom. Dom Smith team MVP. Conforto close 2nd. Gimenez should be Rookie of the Year but wont be. Wait till next year

I love Realmuto. Springer gets hurt and is a Sox Fan. The Kay trade looks good compared to the Nolan Ryan deal.
