I give credit to AD David Benedict and PSH for pulling the trigger and for negotiating a buyout (I am assuming) and if so, to FHCBD for working with UConn so this could happen
I am a little puzzled as to the timing (day after Christmas vs the actual date of 1/2) but maybe they have someone in mind and that person is readily available and a hot commodity
BTW - congrats to Chiefoo for calling this action and taking abuse on the football board - GOOD CALL

Critical hire coming up for the sake of UConn athletics. I'm not expecting a perennial top 25 team or anything like that but a respectable program that sniffs the top 25 some years and goes to bowl games most years is possible (84 teams or something like that go to bowl games). It's doable as one former UConn coach once said.

I agree. Too bad. I watched the first game against Navy. One more play a few more seconds and they would of beat a very very good Navy team at their house!! Actually the last play was terrible call. After that game I didn't even recognize the team. Got worse as the season progressed. *shaking head*

Can't see Les Miles being a good fit here. First off, he's a wing nut. His antics wouldn't go over well here. He's also used to doing things "the SEC way" and that's not going to fly at UConn.
