Well, looks like UCONN is in on this kid, or trying to get in on her. I remember seeing earlier posts on the BY about not understanding how mercedes was not on your all's radar. Looks like she is.

Decision time could still be a long way off for her. As a U of L fan, I am pulling hard for this kid to make it Louisville. With all due respect, I hate to see your all's name show up in the same sentence as " recruiting and Mercedes Russell".

Well, only time will tell where this all leads.

I hope we didn't get in a little two late with her; I think she has already taken one unofficial visit to Tennessee and will take another one October 13TH. She is an outstanding talent so I would hate to see her go to the evil empire.

She has done unofficials with Tennessee, Kentucky, and Louisville( in that order) immediately following the USA U16 games. Based on the timeline of tweets I was reading she was at TN and Ky each for one day, and it looked like 2+ days with us.

Mercedes would be a great pick up for UCONN. We are coming late to her party but it worked before ( Kelly Farris). Her and Stewart on the blocks is a dangerous thought!!!

Breanna Stewart, Stef Dolson, Kiah Stokes, and Morgan Tuck on the blocks sounds pretty good.

Add Mercedes Russell and Brianna Turner and it gets ridiculously good.

It's hard to know what to make of CD's trip to Oregon. UConn does appear to be late to the party, particularly when compared to schools like Louisville and Tennessee. But it's unlikely CD would travel across the country to visit Russell without some indication (directly or through her coach) that she'd be open to a recruiting pitch from UConn.

This is just the first WE have heard of any involvement with her. I'm pretty sure there has been some previous contact and that contact has almost certainly been positive enough to warrant the trip for CD.
