Brown got solid minutes his freshman year, including scoring a goal in the NCAA tournament to tie the game against BU. Then never got solid minutes his next 2 years. For a team like UConn that struggles scoring goals, it makes no sense that he didn't play solid minutes the last two years.

According to NCAA.com, UConn men's soccer is currently ranked 16th in the RPI. Also of notice in the RPI rankings is that ACC teams hold down 7 spots in the top 10. Indiana is No 1, Notre Dame is at No. 5. UConn's next opponent is Boston College which comes in at No. 60. UConn has built this RPI through avoiding bad losses, they better not start doing that with BC tomorrow night.

They have 4 straight winnable home games. Seems this is always the same time of the season where they collapsed the last couple years. We;ll see if Ray Reid can avoid that again.

Watching on All-Access. Surprisingly awful attendance.

Tuesday night's don't draw well, plus the Red Sox are on tonight. Also, John Tuite mentioned that USA soccer is playing Mexico at the Rent tonight.

For the last few years they have also been having bad losses and ties early in the season as well. Combined with late season swoons, it is not a good combination. This year's team has had some luck in that they have avoided bad results, such as making the late comeback against Sacred Heart, and getting a result in games where they were outplayed. The best example of luck however is the lightning wiping away a potential loss to Providence.

Understandable. But I still don't like it.

Abdou Mbacke Thiam gives UConn a 1-0 lead in first half off a quick restart. Ninth goal of the season for Thiam, I believe.

WHUS is having volume problems again tonight, with the sound going up and down at times.

Late first half, 2-0 UConn. Josh Burnett with the second goal, Thiam with the assist.

BC scores two quick goals late in the second half to make it 3-2 UConn with about 6 minutes left in the second half. It's a game again.

Bad second half coaching. Lucky to get the W.

Another example of the luck UConn has had this season, winning this game despite the late second half lackluster play. They have gotten results this season despite less than stellar play on their part in some games. Just hope it doesn't catch up with them and the luck runs out.

A win is a win. And a win over BCU in anything is an even better win.

The B.C. victory is a good one. I've seen B.C. play 3 times this year before the match this week and they have more than held their own vs some really high ACC talented teams. While I have been critical of Reid's coaching lately, and it showed its ugly head again vs BC I'm the second half, the team has shown improvement

The other thing for UConn is that their record is better than it should be for how they have played. There are games that they might of lost that in the end they got positive results from. This is the luck factor that I've babbled on about. While their play may be ugly at times, the fact that they have found ways to win these games (or tie the games against South Florida and Central Florida) in my mind has to be viewed as a positive.

Is UConn's luck starting to slip? With about six minutes to go in the first half, Temple scores first to make 1-0 in favor of the Owls.
