Same exact thing with me. Earliest UConn memories is ray at msg vs a.i and GTownI'm 33, too young for the Dream Season but started following right before the Ray Allen era. Great time to become a fan.
NIT Championship game coincided with rehearsal in NBHS for Mad/ Jazz Singers at night fo our performance coming up. Well this 1 guy wanted to keep abreast of the Huskies progress in the game. So during the breaks I would pull my minature TV and all the guys would gather around to watch it. I remember all the excitement it brought us knowing the UCONN basketball was ready to hit another level. We were hooting and hollering the whole time with Cliff Robinson leading the way.48
The '88 NIT run was my freshman year of high school. I started attending games the following year with my older brothers. Then the Dream Season happened the year after that.
I still find it bizarre that following a college basketball team is such an extreme passion of mine, but here we are.
I keep telling you guys that post on the women’s board - when you post there, it’s like having a conversation with your dad or grandpa. It’s not like a bunch of young guys sitting around to talk sports. Different demographic, different attitudes
That place was great on game day. So close to the game and players. I can remember my young son (under 2) sitting on his Dad's lap or mine while smashed on the bleachers.64. First memories are in the Field House watching Earl Kelley and Cliffy. Crowded, packed bleachers. Walking courtside right next to the players & coaches and being amazed at how big they were.
If you dropped anything it was not good. LOLThat place was great on game day. So close to the game and players. I can remember my young son (under 2) sitting on his Dad's lap or mine while smashed on the bleachers.
As long as it wasn't my son - just leave it. Would not have wanted to clean under those bleachers. If you dropped anything it was not good. LOL
What a tool38 here. Surprising results actually. I would have guessed the results skewed a bit older. I come across so many boomer-type and generally out of touch comments. Been a fan since I could walk and talk. Mom went to UConn and Dad had season tickets since they entered the BE. He still does, and now I also do.
Yep those Boomers are out of touch like most youngsters It’s all the Drugs they took in late 1960’s and 1970’s . My money was going for diapers and baby food.38 here. Surprising results actually. I’m also surprised. I would have guessed that you were around ten years younger based on your comments.38 here. Surprising results actually. I would have guessed the results skewed a bit older. I come across so many boomer-type and generally out of touch comments.
If you're an "old bastard" at 50, that makes me Methuselah 😎50, got hooked with Corney, Chuck, Mike, Bobby D. A lot of games on radio, then Channel 20 on my black & white bedroom TV. Vividly remember staying up late and watching a tape delayed early Big East Seton Hall game on USA network on "the good tv" in color.
Damn I sound like an old bastard.

Can the poll be taken on the BC board? Considering their choice in footwear I'm curious.Saw this on the women's bball board and the results were... exactly as I expected. Would be interesting to see the age of folks that click into the Mens BBall board too...
There had to be student tickets for the CC. We had little golden punch card for the opening of Gampel and the games there. I never remember just showing my ID to get into HCC. I went to all the home games too but to your original question - not sure if we had season tix for that place or if we just got them game by game at the field house ticket window.Does anyone old enough remember if during the dream season there was a student season ticket package that included Civic Center games? I know I went to all home games but I don't remember separately buying the tix for the CC games.
