I keep telling you guys that post on the women’s board - when you post there, it’s like having a conversation with your dad or grandpa. It’s not like a bunch of young guys sitting around to talk sports. Different demographic, different attitudes
I crack up when they do a music thread and the first 20 replies are Bobby Darin, Chet Atkins, Loretta Lynn etc...

Who is Jeeves?

I guess that shows how old I am that I know what Ask Jeeves is.

This board seems to have gotten younger in the last 2 years or so. When I joined it seemed like a lot of old guys. Now I see posts from people I can tell are much younger than me...one I remember recently: someone said Stanley Robinson was their favorite player as a little kid.

35. I attended during our glory years 2003-07. Ok maybe not 2006-07 but the other years.

I'll be 39 before the end of the year. Started watching in the Kevin Ollie/Travis Knight-ish era. I don't really remember why, but I fell out of the loop during the Rudy Gay years after the 04 championship. I think I may just not have had a TV at the time and was playing a lot of shows with a band I was in. Had to look up the timeline, but I def started watching again when dyson and sticks came in as freshmen.

Forum is a lot younger than I thought it was. I assumed the average age was in the mid 50s. Obviously the folks who post aren’t the senior citizens that make up the lower sections at the games.

Time takes its casualties.

But like Old Man River, the BY keeps rolling along.

New or newer blood energizes the dialogue.

The historical perspective of "old guys" can provide context for comparisons of prior players who they personally saw play, with players now playing.

Live on! Rock on!

Old guys: Pepe's, Sally's, Modern
New guys: Blaze

58 in July. BA in 1986, MA in 1990. My last year of undergrad and Perno's last year coincided. My grad school year was the opening of Gampel and the Dream Season. What a difference four years (and a home run head coach hire) makes.

So Storrs is New Haven North, or the New , New Haven?

Blaze got good reviews on Google. So, how does it compare to or with (not sure which preposition is correct) to the "old guys" in the Elm City?

I've eaten there twice. I didn't really enjoy the food either time.

Edit: Blaze

I have never tried Blaze, but back in my day the options on campus were Dominoes and Gumby’s. Anybody remember Gumby’s? @8893 Since we were drunk as often as not, Gumby’s was fine.

I didn't remember Gumby's until you just said it. Thanks for the flashback.

Blaze's thing is that you can customize your pizza with whatever toppings you want, even if they'd make a traditionalist gag. The crust doesn't matter, the sauce really doesn't matter, it's the option to choose recklessly on an app that matters. Ain't no artisans in the kitchen at Blaze.

33. Grew up in Storrs. My first UConn memory is busting my head on the concrete stairs in Gampel when I was like 4. Watched pretty much every game since like the 94-95 season. Saw Ray Allen multiple times at A&P (I think that’s what it was) buying Oreos.
