Something to note about Memphis is that only one player in the starting line up is a freshman, and there's only one more in the rotation. I wonder if recruits take notice and see that playing time is not a given.

That floor....my eyes. It's worse than Boise's Smurf turf.

Memphis has been fun to make fun this year, but they are getting hot at the right time.

A lot of their disfunction was due to a lot of injury issues. They're finally healthy now and they've had five weeks now to figure out how to play without Emoni Bates.

I'm not sleeping on them. If they avoid teams whose defense is based on creating turnovers, they should win a game or more.

Memphis beat Houston twice and has won 10 of their last 11 games. I was quick to make fun of them, but they’ve done a good job of silencing the critics. They could make some noise.

Perfect example of a nightmare matchup in the 5/12. Can’t recall a year with as many talented high major teams projected as 12 seeds. We can’t make an early exit in the BET we need a 4 seed.

The question is will a win against hall be enough if we lose to nova in the semis? If we’d only beaten Creighton I think it would be but now I’m worried we need to beat nova to get a 4.

I have a feeling Memphis is going to end up on a 10 line somewhere … think they have partially and will continue to play their way off the 12 line

Houston is so banged up they have problems running practices. Sampson will have them ready for the tornament
Memphis has enough talent to be very good and so much youth to be very unstable
They had to win the game to stay on the bubble
They could be a load to handle in the tournament or fold very easily
Would love to see Memphis vs Kentucky - it would be a McDs AA game

Id be psyched to have a second round Houston matchup…I’d be a little nervous about a first or second round Memphis one
Totally get that Houston got stomped today and hasn't beaten any great teams, but they'd likely be 3-4 point favorites over us. That would be a pretty brutal second round matchup.

Same. There was a bracket I saw either yesterday or earlier today that had us as a 5 with Houston as the 4, in Buffalo, with Baylor as the 1-seed. Obviously now it’s more likely we’re the 4 and they’re the 5 should the quadrant become reality.

It’s gonna be a hard road no matter who’s in our potential way, but I would sign up for that pretty quickly.

I am reminded that Houston has no quad 1 wins.
In fairness to them they do have a Q1 win but it’s against 15-15 OKST at a neutral site

As a 4 or 5 seed we most likely would have to play a 4 or 5 seed in the second round. Who on those lines do you prefer?

After all of us talking s#!t about Memphis all year, we're going to get them in the 5/12 game aren't we?
looks like this game may have gotten memphis up to the 11 line for most bracketologists. now they just have to take care of business in the aac tournament and we can breath a sigh of relief...

We do need to beat Nova to get a 4.

If we had beaten Creighton, maybe not.

I'd much rather go against Arkansas, Saint Mary's, PC, Alabama, Ohio State, or Iowa. Would probably even prefer a Texas or Illinois matchup.

I'm guessing we'd be favorites or smaller underdogs to every team mentioned above. Mainly don't want Houston or UCLA.

We got a 7 seed in 2014 while beating 6 ranked teams and having a 26-8 record. The American was even pretty good that year with ranked UConn, Louisville, Memphis, and Cincinnati teams throughout the entire season. Houston has zero quality wins in and the AAC is complete trash this year. If they get a 5 seed or better then it's a complete joke. They have the resume of a mid major on the 7/8 line

You do realize Houston’s missing two of their best players and hasn’t beaten anyone close to good (a bubble SMU team at home is the only one you could argue) since they got injured?
