This made me laugh really really hard.

The first part is absolutely true. As for bars, there's a small handful of decent spots, but it's not a good nightlife scene.

Hartford would have been the worst choice for year 1. Coming out of NY City is going to be a letdown, better that occur somewhere else. Philly would have been better for media buzz, but Memphis is a good pic. I'm going to plan to go and now looking forward to it, whereas if it were in Hartford it'd likely be a game-day decision.

Agreed. Memphis is fine. Decent destination city for a weekend.

The games are Wed-Sat. Only one game on the weekend.

And this is one of the most unfortunate things about not having NYC. Used to make a week of it and even get some work done down there.

I checked, Delta flies direct from BDL to Memphis five times a day, $372 round trip.
Where are you seeing direct flights from Bradley to Memphis? The Delta flights I see all have connections (most of them in ATL).

You may be able to fly direct from Hartford to Memphis, but you'll have to pack yourself inside a brown box and travel via UPS.

Apparently Memphis is a tough place to get to directly.
Nothing from Phoenix and the price with one connection is higher than Hartford.
When I worked I traveled a bit.
Connecticut has extrordinaty access.
From Hartord
to the 3 major NY Airports at least 3 lesser ny airports
Plus Providence or even Logan
Nashville is 4 hrs from Memphis

Using impossible kindle keyboard for old men with bad eyes and shakey hands sucks.

Never heard of a film called 'A Haunting In Memphis' for that matter.
