I had to look to see what the date was for that report, and it's today.

I'm not sure what to make of this. I know the staff recruited him hard for a while, but over the past month or so it's been crickets.

Reports were listing the program was no longer recruiting US players, but maybe they were still in on Thomas if he wanted to come here. I'm pretty sure Hurley was not getting into any NIL bidding war for him.

Seems like the remaining 2025 recruits will sign on and I will only use 247 and ON3 - ESPN is borderline useless on bb recruiting as they make every signing seem like no one knew in advance while 247 and ON3 have near 100% certainty for sometime where each will wind up.

Peterson signing with Kansas had all the surprise of a political skit on SNL yet ESPN made it front page news.

My guess is that UConn made a decision to move on. Between knowing his head is on the NBA, he’s OAD, going to OTE, probably decided on his visit that if he wasn’t ready to commit asap and show urgency he wants to be in, then not a fit. Instead he chose to scope out the NIL scene and other options, which he had every right to do.

This is all conjecture on my part based on the bits of info out there . Fairly weird recruitment process.
