McNeeley GTD / Minutes Restriction vs Marquette

When was the last time UConn was this much of an underdog? Not last year. Probably not the year before either. 2021-2022? Which game?
I believe we were favored in every game last year other than at Kansas, no? It’s probably been a long time since we were 5+ dogs.

McNeeley call at 7:30 so anything swirling here is fiction.

Conditioning? There are so many whistles and time-outs and commercials. These kids are in tremendous shape. I get it, players get tired. But a kid can still play much more than 15 minutes even after being sidelined for a while. That's my take.
Kid spent a month not being able to run.

Andre Jackson had a hand injury and went through this same process lol

There is a surprise. We may still be more than a week away. 2/12/25 would be 6 weeks and what did we here 6 to 8 weeks. So we should probably find something else to talk about for another week.

Really unfortunate………..for us but also for him to some degree.

… we should probably find something else to watch tonight lol

it might be for the best. He gets pretty much another full week off to work himself back into basketball shape.
Agreed...Friday at Gampel vs St Johns is a Huge game so more days to heal for that one may help.

I just read some nice things about Abraham. Play him and have him get in someone's grill.

I watched but I have to admit I watched the 2nd half like watching a horror movie as a kid. With my hands over my face and watching through my fingers and closing my hands when Marquette had the ball. Lol
Late in shot clock ball handling wasn’t great… turned the ball over too much to burn clock on a 20+ cushion. I get it… I trust Hurley… we won. Ball security wasn’t good. But winning is hard on road. Excited for Liam to return.

We had a lot of shot clock violations and I understand wanting to run the clock down but too many forced shots with time expiring. I’m sure they will work on it.

How bad does AK want Liam back?

Yes I mentioned this hug in my post right after the game. It was we got through as best we could brother. Indicating that Liam was more likely a go for the StJohns game. Then Hurley kind of confirmed it post game with some if his quotes.

The “barring a set back” was not the most comforting but it seems realistic that will see him on Friday.

I also heard Diarra was dealing with knee tendinitis and I know from personal experience the only cure is rest physical therapy and ice. So hopefully he will be in a better place by Friday.

I also think Hurley is going to take advantage of that big line up against St John. Ross on Louis is going to happen. McNeeley on Richmond, Ball on Wiltcher, Alex on Scott, Reed is probably a better match for their center but Samson will create issues for them as well with his quickness.

Looking forward to Tuesday night and watching St Johns v Marquette.
