You beat me to the punch again Orangutan. I was getting ready to post this.

Are you admitting to getting scooped?

Unfortunately, I am. Ol' Scooper got scooped. Orangutan was quicker on the draw on this than I was. I'll get him next time.

For any expert evaluators...what’s the consensus on this class in regards to if it’s a strong or weak one? From what I’ve read, it seems like the top 4-5 players could be interchangeable.

2017 seems like a pretty weak class based on freshmen impact so far. Deep, but no standouts besides Carter who is tanking her team as of late. 3 of the top 4 recruits aren’t even rotation players at this point.

2016 was somewhat underwhelming last year but appears to be much stronger this season.

2015 and 2014 both are stellar.

7 of them are from the state of Texas. Is that some kind of record? The West team has only 2 players that are from the west, both from California.

No school has more than 3 this year. Georgia Tech w/ 2 and Arizona w/ 1 are kinda surprising.

Thanks Orangutan for posting.......And thanks Scoop for the thought.

I follow Katlyn Gilbert on twitter. She's been retweeting well-wishers ever since the announcement was made. It was hard to miss!

the last Mcdonalds all american OU signed didn't pan out so well, I hope Madison will be a better story, and could be a sign that our recruiting is on the up and up.

Maybe because they’re juniors and seniors now but the 2015 and 2014 classes look really good in hindsight. Those classes look particularly deep.. I just went through ESPN’s top 100 and saw impact players up and down the list.

2016 looks incredibly disappointing at this point. Seems like one of the weakest classes in years probably.

I think it’s too early for the 2017 class but if I had to guess I’m going to say the 2018 class will be far better. This 2018 class is one of the most exciting classes since 2014 I’d say.

Happy to hear that 2018 should be a great class. Agree that it’s too early to give a verdict on 2017.

I will say 2014 and 2015 looked quite good from the get go, especially 2014. I believe Wilson/Turner/Mitchell were All-Americans as freshmen, Hines-Allen and Moore were great, Thomas/Canada/Nurse were all strong.

For 2015 you had Anigwe, Durr, Brown, Ogunbowale, Mabrey, KLS, and Shepard all make massive impacts as freshmen.

2016 was disappointing last year, but they’re coming around...they also have missed Holmes, Slocum and Boley this year. I think they could shape up to be a solid class when it’s all said and done.

Dang. Still bitter Louisville didn't get DeCosta:(... no McDAAs for the Cards. I believe under Walz they had some 2014-17. Sara Hammond in 2011.

This should be a fun game to watch though. West has a lot of length at the guard spot, jeez.

Look at that...Ga Tech gets 2 and Arizona gets 1. Nice to see non powerhouses represented

Westbrook is terrific and Onyenwere is about to be a starter in place of Kelli Hayes with Michaela’s recent play . She looks tremendous lately. Does it all. UCLA is going to be very happy for the next 4 years with her.

I wish Cards got Onyenwere. She would have been huge for them. DeCosta was a huge miss for L’ville.

Just judging from the McDonalds game the 2017 class looked horrible. That’s a bad way to judge a class though
Carter, Westbrook, Walker, Morris and Onyenwere are the best 5. The Texas forward Booth? should be good. Kind of concerned with my Dana Evans. Trouble getting her shots off inside and pull ups. She is pretty short and has speed but not as fast as Alexis Morris or Langdon at Baylor.

I will post a detailed list at seasons end of who has the most McDonalds AA's in the 18-19 season. Will wait till see where the "impending" transfers land.

Usual suspects will be at or near the top--Texas, Baylor, ND, UCONN, Stanford.

Nice to see Georgia Tech and Arizona get on the board. Arizona got a great recruiting class and has some nice transfers eligible next season.

.-.
She wasn't a McD AA but she was in one of the other all star games. Taya Corosdale is developing nicely so far at Oregon St. I think same story w/ Satou Sabally, no McD AA game but she was in one of the others. She also is making a nice impact at Oregon. Maya Dodson and Kiana Williams have had flashes of brilliance for Stanford, but no consistency. Way too early to be writing off the Fr. class, only halfway thru their first year.

Uh oh, you got me. I don't do social media. I'm not on twitter, I use a "pen name" on Facebook that I use to sign on various sites. I don't follow anyone, and no one follows me. I like it that way. You know the old saying, You don't miss things you never had. If you're getting your leads from social media, you'll always clear leather before I do, and I'll never scoop you. :)

I'm confused as to why the east squad has 4 Point Guards while the West squad only has 1 (Honesty Scott-Grayson) who's not really a pg and doesn't live west of the Mississippi??

I think it's cool that all the BU players will be playing together, but I thought the same thing.

You are acting brand new on the composition of these teams, in 2014 Mariya Moore from California played on the East squad with Wilson and the west squad was loaded with PGs ( McCarthy, Caldwell, & Canada).
