We had 3 last year lolWe are not a burger boy destination. We have by far fewer McDonald's All Americans than any school with two or more titles
I like it that way, shows how good our coaches are

I don't disagree it's a bummer, but I suspect that it became a money grab, and Hurley doesn't want kids who are looking for a money grab..I get it and we'll continue to do our thing but not getting Toure is a bummer. I think he's going to be a star and he does things we haven't been able to do the past couple seasons.
Hazelton and Fingleton made it that year because the game was in Boston and they wanted some local guys.Scott Hazelton, McDonald's AA
Emeka Okafor, Not McDonald's AA

$$$$$$$I wonder what criteria is used to select the players?
Don’t get me wrong, a big strong kid, but does he even fall into the top 6-7 of this years class? He looks somewhat slow. I’m sure he can run through people.
Doesn't look overly explosive, just BIG. Like a TE playing hoops. Landrew also a FB player, but not nearly as bulky so he has a bit more agility. The feet on this kid are enormous, look like a size 17.Highlights look weird playing against a bunch of public school kids but he was a monster in AAU.
Think he’d be in the AJ, DP, Boozer group. Maybe at the end, but in that group.
He's not UConn material. Thanks for the clarification. In the end, I will trust Hurley as a recruiter. I think Toure is all about the benjamins, at least that's how it appeared with his dad's comment about the Arkansas visit. Hurley won't get into a bidding war on these kids. He wants kids who want to play for him and not because he overpays to get them.
Think it’s an advantage to be 6’7, look like a TE, with guard skills while being able to 2 hand windmill with ease. I can’t wait to see him play next year.Doesn't look overly explosive, just BIG. I tend to think if you go back to the 80s-90s, it would be quite high. These days with the OAD, really hard to guarantee that it works.Would love to see a Statistic showing how many Mcdonalds AA players each school has had Vs. total NCAA championships they have won won.
There are a lot of schools that consistently do nothing with a tremendous amount of exceptional talent.

Kansas had just one, David McCormack, and he was a senior and not a OAD. That Kansas team was very experienced. Notice a trend?I tend to think if you go back to the 80s-90s, it would be quite high. These days with the OAD, really hard to guarantee that it works.
Florida had zero. UConn 24 had one. Uconn 23 had zero. I'd imagine that Kansas team before it had at least one, as they always did.
No one can keep McD players to stay long enough these days so I wouldn’t be surprised to see more and more title teams without them moving forward.Kansas had just one, David McCormack, and he was a senior and not a OAD. That Kansas team was very experienced. Notice a trend?
I don't know a lot about Landrew, but based on the little that I've read and looking at his dimensions, doesn't he remind you a bit of Caron Butler? They list him at 230 and Landrew at 235 on 247. One of those data points is not accurate. Cade C gas a munch different body type than this kid. Stokes has a thick base. Boozer came out of HS listed at 235.
We'll see. I mean, there was Zion. This kid definitely looks different. Rap on him is also he has an inconsistent motor, not considered HS player of the year, but best NBA prospect.
I'd say if looking for a Uconn comp, Caron is a good one. He's a strong kid, below the rim, but can use it to find space and has a nice touch and solid handle.I don't know a lot about Landrew, but based on the little that I've read and looking at his dimensions, doesn't he remind you a bit of Caron Butler?
Caron came in with a mature body and an extremely versatile three level game. He was one of the most fun players to watch. He could overpower players in the paint, knocked down the three ball and I think he had a pretty good mid-range game. He almost single-handedly willed his UConn team deep in the tournament. He just didn't have the supporting cast to get to the final four.
It will be interesting to see how Landrew fits into Hurley’s system. This year's team could use a physical 2/3 combo to do damage in and around the paint.
How is he a below the rim player at 6-7 and a 2 sport athlete, a receiver that I thought I heard had some top programs interested in him.I'd say if looking for a Uconn comp, Caron is a good one. He's a strong kid, below the rim, but can use it to find space and has a nice touch and solid handle.
It’s not…..it’s just typical crap he throws out there to fit his narrative, as usualHow is he a below the rim player at 6-7 and a 2 sport athlete, a receiver that I thought I heard had some top programs interested in him.
Does anyone know if Ruff's assessment of him is accurate?
Landrew is a big-bodied wing with developing guard skills. Measuring in at 6-foot-6 with a 6-foot-10 wingspan, he has a powerful frame from head-to-toe rooted in his years spent on the football field. He brings that same physicality and toughness to the hardwood, but now that he’s focusing exclusively on basketball, his game is starting to blossom at a rapid rate. How is he a below the rim player at 6-7 and a 2 sport athlete, a receiver that I thought I heard had some top programs interested in him.
