while McCallister was in High School.

For McAllister, the journey to a UConn commit was a long-time coming. The East Longmeadow, Mass. native (a 20 minute drive to Suffield Academy) first started following UConn in middle school as he watched Donald Brown explode into All-America status. When he came to Suffield Academy for his sophomore year, the UConn coaching staff started recruiting him hard. That early recruitment and the chance to stay very close to home and play was something he couldn’t pass up.

Another good article by Silver, who once again shows why he is the go to guy for UConn football coverage.

And yest I will flog myself for spelling McAllister's name wrong in the title.

Really wish the mods would re-enable the edit ability. It's the freaking internets. Tpyos happen.

The fact that recruits were exposed to successful players as kids shows how things are changing. It takes time but is having a positive impact. They don't see UConn FB the way some of us see ourselves.
