while McCallister was in High School.

For McAllister, the journey to a UConn commit was a long-time coming. The East Longmeadow, Mass. native (a 20 minute drive to Suffield Academy) first started following UConn in middle school as he watched Donald Brown explode into All-America status. When he came to Suffield Academy for his sophomore year, the UConn coaching staff started recruiting him hard. That early recruitment and the chance to stay very close to home and play was something he couldn’t pass up.

The fact that recruits were exposed to successful players as kids shows how things are changing. It takes time but is having a positive impact. They don't see UConn FB the way some of us see ourselves.
