There are clearly some intuitive posters on here from weeks ago that were saying we shouldn’t get too high or too low after the first game. And they were correct.

The offense including the line was extremely disappointing- I place that blame on the play calling. It was very bland and easy to defend.

The defense was encouraging to me. The offense didn’t help by going three and out too many times. The guys wilted. For about 20 min you saw what this defense is capable of doing. And Fresno ran the same plays in the beginning and we were attacking and flowing to the ball. If the offense puts up points and sustains a drive the D goes back out with more enthusiasm. Sadly that didn’t happen. This defense was clearly not prepared to handle the approach of “We got to win this game for us”

This game has been in the loss column since it was scheduled. For those of you calling for Randy’s head immediately the question is how did that work out the last time? Firing Pasqualoni after 3 games is what started the spiral down. We won three in a row at the end of that season. If Warde held off we would have had at least 5 wins that year.

Pasqualoni was just the first wrong hire done for all the wrong reasons. Can't believe you want to dredge this up.

I don't know anything about CT HS football, but in TX, HS offenses are much more complex, dynamic, and modern than UConn

So why not go to Texas and recruit their 3rd string quarterbacks?

Probably though, those 3rd stringers would rather play for a competitive college program in their region.

Not saying he was right hire but he was fired at the wrong time three games into the season.

He definitely should have been fired when he was. That team had given up on him.
 
It is easy to be a crybaby b#tch when your team loses ... and looks terrible. How do you respect yourself? I don't think I had any greater expectations than any ... and I actually had seen Fresno play and beat UCLA not long ago. I know the deep hole we are in ... and understand. Please: Don't go to games. Simple, But if you feel the need to be a lowlife funtionaire CT type who just moans while doing nothing ... waiting for your SSA. Go ahead. I respect Nostical ... and hope - for the families & longtime sufferers - that things turn this week. HC has to look better.

and while it is easy to point at JZ. My ire is at the OLine that we had great hopes for. We had no yards rushing with 2 good backs.

it has been a long time between games. in my view, the sets at the line are unchanged from 2019 and the predictability of the play call was telegraphed all game long. Good coaches scout themselves and know how to call a game with the a desired result (ball control, run oriented) Without being so predictable. If I can look at the set and know it will be an inside run left or outside right, then something is wrong with how the game is being called. The OL certainly underperformed but the sets made it way too easy to call the right D for Fresno.
