So we all know how seriously Geno, CD and the rest of the coaches take what a player says in that first meeting freshman year, and how hard they work to help the player reach their stated goals - Tina tells them she wants to achieve AA status and win an NC - check. Maya wants to win championships and become the best player she can be - check. Sue and DT and Dolson and everyone else stated goals and the coaching staff helped them to achieve them. So my question after last night:

How many of them regret in that meeting not coming out and saying 'coach, I want to win four NCs while I am here'? I mean, the coaches deliver what you ask for just like the genii in Aladdin's Lamp.

Along come Moriah, Breanna, and Morgan and they have the nerve to say 'we want four', and ...having the chutzpah to ask they are pushed and prodded and molded to the point of agony, but four years later there they stand!

I can see Maya, Sue, Tina, and DT getting together at the start of USA training in a little circle and saying to each other as they looks daggers at Stewart 'why, oh why didn't we just ask! - I though about it, did't you? I just never actually said it!'

I can guarantee there will not be another Stewie come along in the next decade!
Only Stewie and Stewie only can make such statement and back it up.

Stewie had the ultimate supporting cast. Without Mo and Tuck, we don't win 4.
I remember Mo's defense of Diggins in the tournament, took her completely out of the game. Mo also put the clamps on Jewel, when it counted. Morgan, with her steady play, was invaluable to our success. Stewie is the Greatest but she also had the GREATEST supporting cast in NCAA history.

I think we may have reached the theoretical limit to demands: what's the next superstar recruit ask for: 5 NCs?

The closest one to tie Stewie, Tuck and Mo is Saniya. UConn wins next year and she has 4.

Not really. It was Kelly Faris who sucked the life out of Skylar during 2013 FF. Mo Jefferson was rather shaky-understandable for a Freshmen.

If Morgan has elected to stay, and they win the NC next year, for 5 in a row, does she have 5, even though she redshirted one year?

Wrong, Kelly couldn't handle Skylar, she wasn't quick enough. That's why ND beat us so many times. It was Mo's ball denial and quickness, that totally frustrated Skylar. KF was an excellent defender but Mo is among the best ever. Can't compare them because Mo is simply waaay better.

Some people act as if Barbara Turner and Ann Strother were not good players. Mind you one was 5 star and the other a 4 star. And Moore and other girl were great rebounders. So D also had a good supporting cast as well. Greater than Maya had in her senior year.

Please get it right and stop belittling the others or the players who were just considered role models with D. They were better than many are alleging.

Ann S. was a great sharp shooter from the 3. Jessica Moore bang the boards like a beast. And the rest Etc. And that's all DT needed. She did the rest. But she didn't do it alone.

Maya had 5 freahmans. Hayes was lost in space.

Stewie came in with great players...Good for her because winning 4 in a row took just that.

Yeah, wasn't that the game when Moriah was called for a foul for sticking her hand right in front of Skylar's eyes when Skylar had the ball? Skylar seemed a little annoyed, but I thought it was pretty funny. I remember Doris saying something like "no, that is not legal guarding position…"

it is kind of disappointing that no other school showed up over the past 4 yrs on the biggest stage... especially South Carolina, I wonder what ND would have been like with Loyd. North Carolina and all their shuffling around... Tenn never got their footing.

Credit to UConn for being a steady eddy even with a few transfers in the past couple of years

KML... had a huge hand in a few of those titles. former #1 HS player... Dolson, Hartley... Stewie didnt do this alone and not with only Tuck and Jefferson.
That is true. But, without MJ and Tuck, we don't win 4, that's all I said.

There's probably a number of recruits that sign with a Notre Dame, So Carolina, Baylor, Maryland or other elite school that go into college saying they want to win 4 National Championships. We don't hear about them as those programs aren't covered by the media like UConn is or at the end of their Freshmen year, the dream has ended. Stewie wins a Championship in her freshmen year and is awarded the Most Outstanding Player in the Final Four. Her comment about winning four National Championships becomes a story line and the rest is history. UConn had the talent to enable Stewie, Mo and Morgan to do what many other Elite Players wanted to accomplish but either their team didn't have the talent or coaching in order to accomplish it. If their team did have the talent and coaching, UConn got in their way. :)

Marina Mabrey, Arike Ogunbowale and Ali Patberg; All Freshmen; of Notre Dame probably went into this season, saying we're the team to knock out UConn and stop them from getting their 4th Championship in a row. I'm sure all the other players on this years Notre Dame team believed the same. But they never got the chance. Have to believe Notre Dame would have given UConn a more competitive game then Syracuse did. Notre Dame was probably the only team this year that had a reasonable chance of upsetting UConn.

Now next year, UConn becomes the Hunter hoping to upset the contenders for the National Championship.

Yea, you're pretty out to lunch here. Sure Turner and Strother were good players, but Moore had Hayes who is just as good as either Strother or Turner. (all their stats are pretty equal, all 3 were HM AA's). And Moore had 2 future 2 time AA's in Dolson and Hartley. DT had no one on the team with that kind of talent.

After Charles graduated (Greene, McLaren, Gardler, Fernandes) most people thought Moore/UCONN had a pretty good chance for another NC, and were a little surprised when they didn't get it.

After TASSK graduated, most people thought DT/UCONN would be lucky to get to a FF again. And were quite surprised when they won the NC.

There's your difference.

Wrong.... Kelly was the one guarding Skylar mostly... Bria took a turn on her... but mostly guarded McBride... Mo wasn't in the game too much...

Out to lunch? Research your facts for sure. Hayes is all she had along with 5 freahmans.. Obviously you seem to ignore that fact.

Disagree with you totally

Skylar owned us her senior year, until the semi finals. Where was KF then?
