POI’s at USA Basketball’s U18 team tryouts

Twelve athletes represent the graduating class of 2024, while 14 represent the graduating class of 2025. Athletes eligible for this team must be U.S. citizens, born on or after January 1, 2006.

The class of 2024 includes Joyce Edwards, Kayleigh Heckel, Zamareya Jones, Jordan Lee, Madisen McDaniel, Alivia McGill, Me'Arah ONeal, Arianna Roberson, Kennedy Smith, Zania Socka-Nguemen, Sarah Strong and Blanca Thomas.

From the class of 2025 are Sienna Betts, Divine Bourrage, Nyla Brooks, Kaelyn Carroll, Jasmine Davidson, Madison Francis, Layla Hays, Adelaide Jernigan, Zakiyah Johnson, Grace Knox, Leah Macy, Brynn McGaughy, Mia Pauldo and Aubrey Shaw.

USA Basketball today announced 26 athletes expected to participate in the 2024 USA Basketball Women’s U18 National Team trials at the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

It would be helpful to someone like me who does not follow recruiting that closely to know who the future great one actually is.

I'm trying to decipher it between ivannahoops and inthegymhoopssw and uanextgirlshoops etc. etc. but it would be nice if in posts like this the poster would actually reference her name.

What does unofficial mean? Just a regular walk around campus? It doesn’t seem like she has an offer from UCONN yet according to her socials.

Anyone know if Brynn has an official offer from UCONN? She hasn’t posted anything related to getting one at all, yet she has us in her top 12?

She goes by Ivanna Wilson-Manyacka. She's in the HG Top 25 for 2027, listed in alphabetical order. As noted, she has visited campus at least once. I think Geno really likes her.

May recruiting thread

I’m not sure how I feel about Macy.She’s clearly a very good player but I‘ve had my heart set on Brynn McGaughy for awhile and now I’m hearing all this talk about Somfai. I assume they are all three about even but McGaughy impressed me with her hardhat & lunchpail attitude and her declaration...

Really strange Somfai is putting this stuff out more than six weeks after her visit. Hopefully it means something good.

If she chooses UConn she may bring the best assortment of offensive skills in a 6'4" frame since Stewie......including a better outside shot..........combine her with Jana and Sara and you would have a truly devastating frontcourt.......

Please, stay on topic (UConn recruiting). If you’d like to have discussions about something not related to the UConn recruits as listed here, please start a new thread. Maybe the folks that aren’t interested in recruits that are still years away might like to join your conversation

Skills look similar to Jana's, who is taller. What 2025 and 2026 players are following UConn players and coaches? Also, are there any post players in those classes that have indicated a lean toward UConn?

Lara is the only post who has a heavy lean towards UCONN. 3 AST. Coaches followed, most of the players, most of the UCONN accounts.
