I already gave you the 2 reasons why it can't wait until Jan. These bowl games are meaningless. And both NIU & Cincy had as much of a chance as we did winning our BCS games. Lombardi wasn't coaching any of those 3 teams to victory.
If u think they are meaningless don't watch them. They are more meaningless when the coach leaves. They are important to the kids that play them. People Underestimated louisville west virginia and boise in their upsets. They had a chance because their coaches stayed with them. Do they have the same outcomes if the coach switched teams ? My point was ncaa needs a rule coaches cant be offered jobs until after january.

That's fine but it's as likely as you winning Powerball.

Such a silly conversation. We got beat that day for a lot of reasons. Until I hear a player tell me that Edsall tanked the game I will assume otherwise.

Another reason (in my opinion) why I agree that this is silly. Who has more leverage in negotiating a salary -- a coach of an 8-5 team that just lost by 20 in the Fiesta Bowl, or a coach of a 9-4 team that just beat the preseason no. 1 in the Fiesta Bowl?

I disagree how do u think northern illinois And cincinnati felt when they were coachless in big bowl games. Not fair to the kids that worked hard. If they want to switch teams why cant it wait until january ?

I know for a fact that in Cincy's case it was by choice (twice) and I am pretty confident that UNI also chose to relieve their departing head coach of his duties prior to the bowl game.

I have always believed that a large reason why RE was as hush-hush as he was about the move was to ensure that he wouldn't be told that he was no longer needed and then could not coach the Fiesta Bowl.

Fair point, although Randy was generally hush-hush about everything. I think Jeff Jacobs is still mad about being "lied" to about Tyler Lorenzen's foot and Donald Brown's pro intentions (as if Randy owed him some form of duty).

Edsall's mind was not on the game the 2nd half. His mind was already in MD. Watch the game tape, he was in no way coaching the team, just standing there like an onlooker.

Yup, in their biggest game UConn was being coached by a Maryland man.

oh the irony ... the head coach that proclaimed he was against texting and modern social media as a recruiting tool decides to text his intentions to leave his current position at his current job to his current employer ... instead of saying it to his face 120 seconds prior ...

We take a thread and article that speaks very highly of one of our own and turn it into this steaming pile of ?

We already know that we who post here are insane. Sometimes I wonder why people even lurk.

You guys are utterly totally and completely out of your minds. It's painful sometime.
